Uninsured woman rear ended it, it’s really minimal damage — just some of trunk unibody is pushed in. The repair estimate was something like $3,300.

Oh you’re kidding me now. That Toyota parts guy didn’t know what he was talking about. I spent hours restoring the lens in the 5-Lug. I had to wetsand, polish, etc etc etc

 

Oh I didn’t let them repair it. I’m just going to take it to a frame shop. Shouldn’t be more than a few hundred bucks and it’s far less shady than using a tree.

You were right the painted body panels pushed it over the limit.

 

LOL, the price has gone up double. looks like its 38 bucks now.

 

I might get a new one for the truck. At that price it’s hard to beat.

 

i have small surface scratches, swirls, small marks but I think I saw that the stuff you clean the newer headlights will work to make the IP lens like new
is this so?

 

i polish my cluster lenses with plastic polish, which is what comes in the headlight kits.
deep scratches replacements the only fix. light swirls will vanish with polish

 

Well my truck survived Imogene and Corkscrew Pass here in CO. Really regret not putting a trans cooler on this thing before I left. Just an F250 and a Taco in a sea of Jeeps.

thanks, i usually dust it with a cotton ball so the scratches I don't think are deep!

the lens is stupid easy to replace
