Alright, so... I'm tentatively planning this thing for 28-29 September. The next step is finding a spot.

Does anyone have any hot tips on a camping site that can handle 8-10 tents and trucks?

I'd look into Reeb Ranch. Not sure on cost etc, but that's def big enough. I'll chip in on camp fees. Easy access to both Pisgah and DuPont and they usually have beer and food onsite.

    Edit: adding link http://www.reebranch.com/

Reeb is pretty cool I just hate paying for camping. But with this many trucks it may be necessary

My wife and I camped at REEB earlier this year and enjoyed.

Free access to pump track and trails behind the barn are included with your stay. Dupont is maybe 5-7 minutes up the road by vehicle.
REEB sold beer out of the airstream next to the pump track but it was a little more spendy than if you went down the road to the grocery store. There wasn't any food available the weekend we stayed.

Campsites are pretty nice, situated along a little stream. Not a lot of shade to be had and only 1 or 2 port-a-potties around. But overall, if the weather cooperates and you are there to ride its a good place.

REEB is definitely an option. I'll look into costs this morning and get back to everyone.

Unfortunately, it looks like the camping at REEBranch is completely sold out on 28-29 September.

    Any other ideas are welcome!

REEB may not be an option for that weekend.

Edit: @paleh0rse just said that

Is anybody getting there early on Friday? There are a lot of first come-first serve sites through PNF but they get taken quickly. An option would be someone claims a spot Thursday night and posts it here for those coming on Friday after work (me)

I think we'll need to set a deadline (very soon) for locking in attendance so that we can plan accordingly. I wouldn't want to book a site that supports 10 trucks and tents and see only 4 people actually show up. Booking it for 2-3 nights instead of just 1 will be an important change, as well.

I'm thinking the FS roads behind the Hub. Know what I'm talking about? there are dispersed sites along those creeks which could fit some trucks. And the Knoxville crew (@trekinit and @A_Hooligan ) could ride together to save truck space

I don’t know of any spot that could hold more than 5-6 trucks.

I'm actually in talks with the hostess now and hope to make the arrangements for 8-10 trucks. I'll keep everyone posted. I'll just front the money and worry about the payments later. Based on her known pricing, it shouldn't be that bad at all.

How many of you will be arriving Friday instead of early Saturday? I personally may be able to make it there late Friday evening after work, but it's not guaranteed.

I may go up Thursday and stay in Asheville so I’ll be available anytime Friday. Lunch in Asheville Friday any one? Any place is fine as long as it’s White Duck Tacos.
