As much as the memes for people who wear Uggs (especially men) are funny, dang they make a comfortable, fairly durable boot. It's like slipping your feet into a wool oasis every time you put them on.

Are they even broken in after a year?

I'm looking for a daily boot and leaning towards Red Wing brand because I have a $250 voucher from work. There's probably cheaper options out there but I'm unfamiliar. I'd also like the boot to last a damn long time hence Red Wing.

I own some Thorogood Moc Toe boots and those are comfy ... just too rugged for everyday work boot

Mine are broken in but I don't wear them daily or for "hard work". They're more of a casual boot for me. Had I worn then for more work I'm sure they'd be even softer. I have a second pair of Redwings (Roughneck) that I use for work and they've been beat to shit and still have a lot of life left in them. A little saddle soap and mink oil and they come right back to life with a nice broken in patina. The Iron Ranger is substantially lighter than the Roughneck but you can still tell you're wearing a boot if that makes sense. It really depends on what you're used to. For reference, when I usually wear vans if I'm not wearing boots or dress shoes (with a suit) so I'm used to having lighter feet.

It took about a week for them to get comfy. One of the main issues I've heard about wearing them everyday is that the inside sole can disintegrate if they aren't drying out completely at night which can kill them. I'd recommend getting some cedar shoe trees and keeping them where they get some airflow if you're going to go with them. Also make sure you get sized, I was a full size smaller in these than what I normally wear.

I have a pair of durangos. More of a cowboy/work boot. Super comfy. Or the 5 pairs of combat boots i have. Rather run in those than sneakers/running shoes

It can be pending weather and type of Ugg boot you're wearing. No socks with the wool insides either though, so I don't really "foot sweat" thankfully.

Totes serious. What kind of boot you need? Waterproof? Warmer? Super heavy duty?

Here are a couple examples from Ugg depending on the type of work you need it for......

    Everyday life:

    A bit more grunt:

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
No, but I've had a pair of Cabellas brand for 5 years now and they still hold up really well for what I've put them through.
