About 2” in the front and about 1” in the back

https://www.headstrongoffroad.com/store/p401/Coil/Bilstein_5100_Kit_(HS16BK-1).html is where I got my front setup. I went with the 887 springs because they were exactly the height I wanted for right now and HeadStrong will assemble them for $90, meaning I didn’t have to rent a spring compressor and worry about all that crap. You can also get the AAL there but I got mine before finding out about this kit. I would HIGHLY recommend headstrong to anyone. Fantastic place to do business with!

It’s pretty close to level. I kept a tiny bit of rake but I’ve got about 7.5” between the top of the front tire and the fender and about 7.75” in the rear. I forgot to measure before so I’m not sure what I gained but around 1-2.” It may settle a bit so we’ll see where it sits in a couple weeks.

is there a benefit to adding a tip to the dumped exhaust? or is it just personal preference?

not talking shit, i did the same but left it untipped since it's out of sight.

I'm thinking about trying fluid film myself. I have a max jax lift and the plan would be to clean and re-apply FF once a year. Every spring I change the transmission fluid, filters, oil, diff oil, on all my cars and coolant, brake and PS fluid every other year. I could simply add the FF to the routine. Including the Tacoma, I have five cars in the family fleet.

Do you have the front springs pre-loaded at all?
How did you gain lift in the rear?

Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
I'm envious. It's not the cost of the lift that keeps me from getting one, it's the cost of raising the garage roof.

I did a lot of research into rustproofing. FF was highly regarded by many people, including some other TW members. I didn't want to do it myself because I don't have a lift and it's a messy job, but I had a heck of a time finding a shop that would do it. Most shop owners would look at me funny because they'd never heard of it (it's been around since the 1940s). Finally found a guy with a small shop around 30mi. away that does it as sort of a specialty. Took him an hour and a half and charged me $150 (which is reasonable). As much as I'm going to hate it, I may just do it myself in the next month or two. I've already got a gallon of the stuff sitting around.

One important thing to keep in mind when using FF is to keep it off of any rubber that is not oil/fuel resistant. Think door seals. FF will cause the rubber to swell, and door seals would need to replaced.

<edit> - Oh, and you have to sure to keep the FF off the brakes (duh) and the exhaust (just causes some smelly smoke for a bit).

    That's a lot of wheels.

I have my vehicles thoroughly no drop oil undercoated every other year. It's messy working under there but worth the hassle I think to protect the frame etc. from road salt.

My front setup came with a 1/4” spacer to correct the drivers side lean. Otherwise I have the shocks set at zero preload. The new rear shocks are not adjustable so the lift came from adding a leaf spring (also known as add-a-leaf or AAL).

One of the funniest YouTube videos I saw on the subject was from one of your fellow Canucks ( :canada: ).

"See this truck... It's 6 years old and has 300,000 mi. on it and not a speck of rust! I'm going to show you how to do this... You're going to need a bucket and one of these sprayers for an air compressor with a hose pick-up. First, let's do an oil change..."

and I'm like "Oooohhh, I see where this is going."

I consider Fluid Film to be roughly the same thing, just a little more environmentally friendly.

What is this "no drop oil" undercoating of which you speak?

Thx. Thats the info I'm looking for. I bought the spacer for the front LS to correct the lean. Going to get the front shocks in a few weeks and use the OEM springs and try pre-load 1 notch. The rear has already been taken care of by installing the RMAS system.

No drip oil spray, there was a typo. I think it has wax in it but I'm not 100% sure. It is a common rust protection solution in Ontario. I experimented with not undercoating for about 5 years on a Hyundai Elantra and the fenders were about to fall off before it hit 300000 klms.
