I'm not trying to sell you one as I have more work than I can handle right now but a suggestion would be to read reviews of what people think of the other y-pipes.

Did performance increase or just noise?
How did the sound change, better or worse after y-pipe install.

I never used the other y-pipes but I have been told by others who switched from one of the other y-pipes to mine (the only change on sc truck) made a noticeable performance difference.

It really depends on your goals.

What park of OK are you located?

I'm off the 44 and only 10 mins from the OK border. I'd be happy to show you some stuff.

@Roostfactor hey sorry man, just seeing this reply.. If you are anywhere close to Shamrock TX, its about a 4 hour drive from Tulsa. I would definitely be interested in meeting up!

Im starting to lean this way: https://www.urdusa.com/urd-competition-y-pipe-for-4wd-tacoma-v6-2005-2015/ :::: https://www.urdusa.com/urd-spec-u-lt-headers-for-1gr-fe-tacoma-2012-2015-v6/

Down the road (like, 2-3 years) Ill start looking into one of the endless options of Rotrex Superchargers or a Maggie. So many different Rotrex's and why is the Maggie so expensive with less power provided!?

    JFR. Full stop.

I’m surprised to find this is even a question. First of all, which one is equal length? That’s the one to get.

I started out with a URD and JFR modified the URD to make it equal length. Huge improvement in sound and power as measured on the butt dyno.

Having experienced first hand.. non-equal length vs equal length back-to-back, I would never recommend an unequal length y-pipe unless there was some sort of packaging issue that prevented equal length from fitting.

The JFR y-pipe costs more than the other two, but the benefit outweighs the price difference. Additionally, John is a true craftsman and obsesses over every TIG weld. That level of quality shows in the final product.

Here are some pics of my unequal length URD Y-pipe getting transformed into an equal length. Courtesy of @Roostfactor.

This is what it looks like out of the box:

The man, the legend. He re-used much of the original as possible, substituting fresh mandrel bends where needed to get the desired shape:

Test fitting along the way to make sure everything fits, before fully welding each joint:

is there now or in the near future a JFR option for the 2GR-FKS? i am currently on a full custom system with URD Mk2 Y in the mix, but i'm considering another round of improvement.

As a owner of a URD one just save up and get the JFR. URD is good until you do headers then the rasp gets unreal. I’ll be getting a JFR soon just gotta get some other things finished before upgrading the exhaust

Unless you get a supercharger this is going to be a waste of time and money and will make your truck sound worse.

This is a cool approach, loginfailed and roostfactor. I think I'm going to save these pics and try this when I get some time. My buddy just got a new Alpha TIG I'm anxious to try.

It's quite possible down the road. I have to get caught up on the 2nd gen customers first though.

This CAN be a true statement but I respectfully disagree when it comes to my y-pipe.
There are very specific reasons why the dimensions are what they are.

I got more power with the URD y pipe and headers NA so I can only imagine yours would be even better :turtleride:

Hopefully your friend has better success with the Alpha TIG than I’ve had with mine.

First off, mine did one bead and then the high frequency start board went bad. They were really good about it though and they sent me a replacement board for free. All I had to do was take the machine apart swap it out.

Second, there are a ton of adjustment knobs and you really need to know what they all do and why in order to see good results.

I have TRD SC and run JBA LT headers with the URD y-pipe along with a single Magnaflow cat. converter. After experimenting with various mufflers, I went back to the stock one until it got mangled during a trip. I now have a Walker quiet-flow muffler which rumbles just a tad louder than stock.

I would recommend only do the URD y-pipe if you're going to do LT headers as well.

I am into quiet now as well. I tries the 3" stainless Walker Quiet Flow muffler. It was removed after 40 miles. I am now using a muffler from a 2019 Ram 5.7 hemi. All 3" throughout and flows well. It is the cats meow meow!
