getting new tires for my 1st gen dcab prerunner

so im pretty sure 265/75/16 is as big as i can go with no lift but what is the exact size of 265/75/16 !!!!!

i hear some guys say its a 30in tire, some say 31in tire and Ive even heard 32in tire !!! is anyone positive on this???

i do believe, to be exact, its a 31.6in tire. is that right??

what is the next size right above 265/75/16?? I have no lift and will be using the stock 16in rims and want to get the biggest tire possible. Ill remove my mudflaps if i have to. right now i have 265/75/16 duellers-bald

 

a 265/75 is like a big 31 but concidered a 32 in the metric world. Next up would be a 285/75 which is a large 32 which is concidered a 33 in the metric world

With 285s you would need a lift at least 2.5", wheel spacers or new wheels with 4.5" of back spacing and new UCAs if you went above 2.5" with your lift to fix any alignment issues you may have

is the 265/75/16, 10.5in wide or 11.5in wide? i think the 11.5's would look better

 

with the 11.5's i may have a rubbing issue though, what do you guys think?

 

You will rub with the 11.5s if you have stock wheels because they aren't back spaced enough...you"ll have to get 1.25" wheel spacers to avoid it or more back spaced wheels, 4.5" is ideal for most applications...but thats with the 285s so you don't have to worry. Its the 265s that are a little over 10" wide

 

these are 267/75/16 no lift, no rubbing at all!
You just have to make sure the backspacing on the rim fits with the tire, mines -6

 

265/75/16s will fit with stock wheels...I ran that size with my old 1st gen for quite a while with no issues

 

Correct me if I'm wrong but stock 16x7 wheels have 4.5" bs already. I had 16x8 alloys that had 4.5" bs and ran 265 75 r16 with small lift no rubbing. Just got 4" bs wheels so I can step up too 285's and not have as much rub as with 4.5" bs.

265 75 r16 u will be fine

 

What about 275/70/16s, will they rub?

 

Much like the rest of us I, I have done extensive research on what new tires I will be purchasing in the near future. I found this site a while back and it has an incredible Size Calculator. You input the "stock" size, then you have the option to add up to four (4) separate tire sizes. It then shows you a side by side comparison on the differences in overall diameter of your choices. Check it out, it's been a very informative tool for me so far, and I thought I would share it with my TW brothers and sisters.

OP, 265/75/16 is roughly a 32x10.5x16.


taquito, the "70" in 265/70/16 is the height of the sidewall compared to the width of the tire (the 265, in mm)

a 265/70/16 tire is 265mm wide, or roughly 10.5 in. 70% of 10.5 is ~7.4. This means the sidewall is 7.4 in tall. Double that, add the wheel diameter, and you get the height of the tire (~31")

Your 285/75/16s were about 11in wide, so the sidewall height was around 8.3in

 

So your sayin 285/75/16 should fit on 2.5 lift with 16x8 4" backspacing wheels?

 

You can get 35s to fit on no lift.

A lot of people run 33x11 on a 2-3in lift. You might have to massage some stuff in the fenders, but not much.
