Finally caught up on a shit ton of post.

After learning a bit from my wife and father-in-law's collision repair shop I'll always go through my own insurance just because USAA is a bit better when it comes to vehicle repair. Standards across the major insurance companies for "fixed" vehicles vary a lot. It blew my mind just to hear what they paid for when it came to even blending paints on new parts.

Idk, after running the Cooper STT PROs this past weekend and seeing GT abuse the crap out of his ST Maxx my opinion is gonna be stuck on Coopers.

Can the 3rd gen Sports do the yellow wire mod? My poors man's locker has helped out a ton since I did the 5 min mod years ago.

Yea I bowed out quick after seeing you hit that middle part. The more I go out with you guys the more I massage my rear end to the point I need a high clearance bumper.

You break it you buy it! Or you break it and you buy it back from the insurance company for me so I can SFA it and for real have a toy.

What @G.T. posted is different than the yellow wire mod I have done. It's basically a trick of the 4 hi TRAC to operate in 4lo.

This is the OG tutorial I followed. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/4lo-trac-abs-kill-switch-why-why-not.257444/#post-6254094

Edit: I have no clue if this works on 3rd gens...All I know is it's helped me crawl through some stuff an open diff normally wouldn't.

Interesting. I thought TRAC was enabled by default in 4LO or is that A-TRAC?

Probably one of the better explainations I saw about it.

Pretty sure @Tacomania saw it kick in several times this past weekend

Unfortunately the Sport models don't have A-TRAC either

Right, they never did. That’s why on my 09 sport I did that mod and have Fake ATRAC. Normally traction controls gets turned off in 4Lo but with the mod it tricks my system into keeping it. So now for certain obstacles I can get it to brake the spinning tire and momentarily get the opposite tire some traction and climb out.
