For as much crap as people give Ryobi, I've never heard anyone that actually owns their tools have anything bad to say.

 

so what size small one do I need for everyday tasks such as that, possibly running an impact?

 

What CFM does your impact run at?

I find my 20 gallon tank and 4 CFM output is perfect to run all the tools I have and even that won't keep up if I run my impact for 20 minutes straight. Just need to see realistically what duration you'll be using these tools and if you want to listen to it all day or not.

 

I don't own an impact.

 

Buy a big one one day. Mine is on wheels, tank is horizontal, constantly runs when doing a rotation on my truck. Just save and buy a big one.

 

I’ll say I’ve had the opposite experience with the angle grinder. Haven’t been able to kill it after I burnt up a 15 year old dewalt one weekend. Bought it “to get me through the weekend”. 2 years later it’s still going. It just really loud.

I will second Wes about the wheels though. They are complete garbage.

 

I'm leaning this way. I haven't really needed a compressor to this point, even if it would make things easier. I'd rather wait till I have a shop and can put one in there.

 

Well I'll assume you'd buy one if you get a compressor. Most run anywhere from 3-7 CFM depending on what you buy. That's going to be a momentary load compared to something like an air hammer that runs 15-20 CFM under constant load. I run an air hammer, but I don't run it for more than 10-15 seconds at a time.

 

which one do you have? I won't buy wheels there. I already have some flap disks and cutting wheels, just my angle grinder sucksssss

 

Better yet build a place for it outside of the shop, run air lines thru the wall. That way you don't have to hear the dang thing.

I have that, but in blue flavor, the top of the box is great for working.

 

I love my yellow daytona, but I got it at like 20% off $190.

i'm running the makita and it has the best CFM for any compressor in it's price range, the tank isn't that large though. It's quality. see here.

Ok new game. You've all seen the last few messages and kinda what I need/had in mind to buy from HF. workbench/powertools/rolling seat/possibly compressor/etc/etc.

You've got $400-$500, what all are you buying this weekend during the parking lot sale and just other stuff from HF if you are me?

cheap air compressor, dewalt 1/2 impact and battery, cheap table that you were looking at.

you can take the dewalt with you, you can't take that earthquake with you.
