I'm in the market to trade my access cab for a double and saw this one. Looking at the Carfax, it appears to have been installed by the previous owner. I still haven't heard back from the dealer about warranty info. It has less than 9k miles and I really like the color. What do the TW folks think?

I understand I can buy a brand new one close to the price, but....

I'm going out to dinner. Talk to y'all in a while.

Hell, I wish I could find a Tacoma with an s/c already installed. That actually seems like a hell of a deak with the s/c.

I would go for it if it was a dealer installed supercharger. I have one and love it. Between the steps and supercharger thats an extra $4000+ on top of the original purchase price. Offer them $26,500 and make them throw in the TRD exhaust, there is A LOT of profit on used dealers to play with. Also, find out what the trade in is on your truck and ask for 3K more for it. Make them work for the sale. I got my truck new, all kinds of goodies and go fast parts, OTD with tax, title, licensing, and parts installation after trading in a ragged access cab for 19,500 so it can be done.

Oh, BTW, the supercharger is so worth it. Look into an extended warrenty though. I would normally not advise it but you will go through rear difs eventually and possibly tranny/transfer as well so it will pay for itself eventually.

I would not consider this a good deal.

    JMHO.

Offer the stealer $24,500.00 and have the truck checked out by a Toyota service dept before you sign anything.
In the tight financial times we are in they may just bite.

^ i doubt it otherwise toyota wouldnt even warranty it. You should though change the diff fluids at about half the recommended maintenance time though from the extra power

The rear diffs have been known to be a bit weak on stock tacomas, so figure you add the power of the SC and you have a better chance of issues with the parts that have to handle/transfer the power. But it would all be covered under warrenty. Really it shouldnt be a problem unless your hard on your truck like I am.

^^^ like said above i think the rear end can handle the strain because if the SC is installed by the dealer they have to warranty it.

kinda dumb if you are going to blow diffs and a tranny in 2-3 years... when the warranty is for 5-7years... JMHO

but dealers tend to make money not make deals that will cost them...

    again my .02

    The reply I got was...

I then asked him about extended warranty information. I'll let y'all know.

Taco4x4NC. I'm curious as to know why you would consider it a bad deal. Is it because it's SC?

I've been looking around for a while and if I could find a stock '09 TRD 4x4 DC taco with less than 9k miles for 24.5k around here. Please let me know.

I'm wondering the same. I look all the time, and 09 dub cabs are always 30-31 grand, 28 is low. And this one has a 4k dollar extra........... a fun one at that.

Definitely have it thoroughly inspected and keep haggling them. Shit and with a trade in I'd definitely jump on this deal too.

for me it all depends on how many miles the S/C has gone through...when it comes to any performance mods I prefer new...just MHO...:D

not sure if you can do this at all dealerships but here in vegas at FINDLAY TOYOTA they can add a TRD S/C, lift kit, rims, tires, and any extra accessories you may want on the truck to the sticker price...

I know a few members that have done this for lift kits, tires, and rims...only a handful of other members mostly from XR-U that have gotten the TRD S/C installed by the dealership...

I have seen this, but here in Ca. they charge almost double for everything they do. Maybe that was the case with this truck...........although i wonder, why would someone s/c a new truck, then turn around and sell it?? Something to think about.
