    Here's an ideal, exterminate the Hornets by feeding them the Pumpkin Spice flavoured Spam. It would solve half the worlds problems immediately.

    That looks like a Broyhill Brasilia mid century model. Awesome. My dad bought my mom a Zenith model for a wedding present back in tHe late 1960's and still have it. I've laid claim to it and will pick it up next month. He said everything works... It is one of the high end models with a pop up reel to reel player. It needs a little restoration of the exterior but is otherwise in remarkable condition for being 50+ years old.

    Just a heads up on those old tube radios and TV's. Back in the day the capacitors were made of rolled up paper and aluminum foil and over the years every one of them has failed. One job of the capacitor is to protect the tubes and a loud hum is the symptom of a failed capacitor. If you hear that turn it off quickly. Modern replacement caps are readily available and cheap. As for tubes, not so much. I fixed up my Dad's old stereo and quite enjoyed the project, but it was a big learning curve. I even made a video of the project.

    Thanks for that! I've been reading up on the electronics and the late 60's they were transitioning from tubes to solid state in these consoles. Some models had a mix. I'm not sure what this one has but I'll open it up and see. The walnut veneer is what I'm worried about; I've read they used a tinted shellac or varnish rather than a wood stain. If do, refinishing the worn areas will be tougher and may require the whole exterior being sanded. But maybe not. We'll see.

    This is a similar model with the reel to reel;

    I remember my parents having the same model when I was a kid. I have no idea what ever happen to it.
    One thing you may want to try is lightly sanding the top and staining it a darker color. The two tone look is really nice. Maybe even match the top, face trim, and legs but leave the inserts the original shade. Please post it once you are finished.

    SUNY Women’s Studies Staffer: Milking Cows Is ‘Sexual Assault’

    573D2544-55C2-4EA7-B693-D23EE9B849E6.jpg

    A new research paper published last week by a staff member of the women’s studies department at SUNY Brockport makes the case that the dairy industry’s production process involves the “rape” and “sexual assault” of cows.

    According to a report by Campus Reform, a staff member of the women’s studies department at The College at Brockport, State University of New York argued in a recently published academic journal article that the production of milk on farms is akin to “rape” and “sexual assault.

    The research article’s author, Mackenzie April, is in charge of social media for the women’s studies department at the college.

    The article makes the case that the milk production process involves both “rape” and “sexual assault,” which occur, according to April, during the insemination and milking process, respectively.

    A few brief examples include rape or sexual assault, nonconsensual hormone treatments, and emotional trauma related to pregnancy. Dairy cows are forcibly impregnated, or raped, in order to constantly produce milk for humans to consume. This is not to say that male cows (bulls) do not undergo similar pain and anguish. They struggle, they die, and they cry for help the same ways a dairy cow does. However, it is the biological differentiation that determines their life journey, similar to the way these biological differences will indicate how human beings will be socialized and treated throughout their lifetime.

    The research was published by a journalstarted at SUNY Brockport called Dissenting Voices. The journal, which is a collaboration between students at different levels of their education leading to doctorate programs, was created to give students an opportunity to reflect and expand upon the lessons they’ve learned in their courses.

    Stay tuned to Breitbart News for more updates on this story.

    Mate, if I had seen that I’d have seriously considered punching her in the throat. All in a civil act to restrain her until the authorities arrived of course. What a grub.
