ok first on another forum Tacomaoffroad i was real happy to find here on TW a new cheaper alternative to the scangauge... but as i started this thread on TOR i found out that Mauzer found some info on Ultragauge.

not doubting the system but his evidence is overwhelming and i have checked some of it to make sure he was legit.

What I mean by my comment, is once the SG2 is well calibrated you can use the readouts on the 'Tank' readouts to see exactly how much fuel is left til empty based on the amount used and the tank size, and it also shows miles to empty based off of the Tank average fuel economy. I've even trusted the gauge and gone down to under 1 gallon remaining(the trucks low fuel light actually comes on with about 3.5gal left) in one situation where there wasnt a gas station for 40miles and I didnt want to back track to the last station when I realized I needed gas. Not saying anyone else should chance it that much though, but I've been able to calibrate mine quite well.

I'm a big fan of mine. I use it mostly for MPG related stuff, but every once in a while I use it to monitor other stuff, and I've pulled codes for co-workers at least a dozen times with it.

How do you recalibrate the mph? I don't remember seeing anything to that affect.

Damn, thanks. Never needed it, but good to know it's there! my SGII and my Garmin report the accurate speed. If only the damn speedometer would do it too ...

I have a SGII and it works great but I am really liking the Ultragauge. I would be willing to sell my used SGII to get the UG.
