Yup! I'm hoping at first glance it can pass as a local Hilux. As low key as possible is the idea

Haha! The motorcycle is a Honda XR650L is my sons, but the beautiful brown thing...we’ll all my kids have volunteered to shelter it for free. I’m hiding the keys. It’s a 2008 Porsche 911 turbo convertible 6 speed, got a year ago after wanting one for 35 years. It puts a shit-eating grin on my face every time I drive it. Was trying to hide it in the photo

We’re heading out next May, over the next few months we’re going to debug it. Way too many (3 that I noticed) electrical issues just in first drive. Rear suspension bottomed out on the first deep rut and hit one of the rear boxes.

Nice car! I wish I could have fit into one as I’m 6’5”, 220 lbs with long legs. Are you a PCA member? I’ve found that they have some nice driving events

Be happy to show it to you. I’m a mile off of Interstate 5 in Ashland

Agreed, a 911 has a bit more legroom in my experience. 6’4” here, and the sport seats are just right for my 180lb frame. Legs are a touch cramped in the cayman, but worth it.

About the only thing I’d trade mine for is the new 911T.

Yep, PCA member of the Mavericks region. And we do have some good drives... for Texas. Got lucky once and my sales guy gave me two tickets to a Porsche drivers event. Got to spend the day driving all of them on the track and the street. Son-in-law and I had a blast.

I’ve found the members to be great people.

Back to overlanding: we’ll probably start our efforts in about 2 years... airstream style.

I just did the latest OVTune upgrade and it’s pretty nice. That, and some future suspension tweaks and I should be able to handle a trailer. Also considering his supercharger kit.

No problem. Portland is at the extreme northern end of the state and I’m at the extreme southern end, a dozen miles north of the CA border

Cool. To be honest if we were sticking to North America, I think I’d pull it with 1/2 ton. But I certainly love the smallish size of the Tacoma. I’ve been going back and forth about getting the OV tune, just not sure how it would benefit while hauling my trucks weight and also burning some cruddy gas. We’re saving North America for last. I really want to spend a summer in Alaska
