They eat other spiders! They don't spin webs, they literally chase them down and go cave man on them. They're ground hunters and it's quite a sight. But wolf spiders are the ones you hear horror stories about stomping and babies run everywhere, they carry their babies on their abdomen. Full disclosure: I absolutely HATED spiders on an irrational level. I would threaten to burn my house down if one escaped my murder attempts and disappeared. Over the years I have learned the actual scary spiders don't look all that scary. I used to be terrified of Orb Weavers until I nearly crashed my truck while one was climbing on me while headed home after a hunt club work day and decided to learn what was on me. Jumping spiders were another one I was terrified of until I learned what they were up to, plus they have really cool faces. One lives on my front door and I've named him Gus. He jumps on me every once in a while, and it still terrifies me (he is really big and furry), but he has a really cool face and tries to bail off me ASAP. I do not tolerate them inside my house (unless Gus has made it in the front door and I put him back outside) and I use pesticides to keep them out. The spiders on your truck are harmless and they keep other pests away. I'd leave them alone unless they got on me, at which point I'd go with the "kill it with fire" option. Unless it's Gus.

That's a metaphor for life. Most are scared of the monsters under their bed, until they learn about about and make em friends.

:rofl: Trust me, I'm not a friend of them. Gus and I have an understanding of sorts. All others cannot be trusted. I try to stay out of their way if they stay out of mine hahaha.

Just for fun....if you live in a dark area without street lights go outside and shine a flashlight across your yard at night. The small but shiny eyeballs looking back at you that you may have told yourself are dew drops are actually wolf spiders. You can even see them "blink". I'm warning you, you'll never be the same. Granted I live in the country with a grass yard so it might not be so bad for people in the city or in the desert. I see hundreds, but I have no insects in my yard whatsoever.

Y'all just need to vacuum up the webs. They make webs in dark/ no wind areas. In places like beds with camper or tonneau covers, use peppermint oil/ water and spray the corners where it's commonly seen. You can't use diatomaceous earth dust there. Itll leave a mess. Think of blowing baby powder in your camper.
A simple vaccum cleaner will suck up the spiders and webs along with the eggs. In tight areas, use a duster wand to pickup the webs . Some spiders do bite. Last thing you want is an infestation of spiders in the cab. Your wife / gf will love that.

Why would one replace a garden spider with an actual scorpion. Also, would this be a venomous scorpion? And, if so, where would one acquire such a creature? Asking for a friend.

All scorpions are venomous, dry climate under a nice big rock that has moist ground under it, Or sometimes in your shoes. They don't swim very well either. You would think different with all those legs and a big rudder for a tail.

Not replace them. We have scorpions all over the place, found a few in the house in different locations. We are used to them now. All scorpions are venomous, the ones we have are called bark scorpions and are the most venomous of all. If you get stung it feels like 10 wasps stung you but it goes away in 30 min.
Lizards also all over the place, have to push out of the house to save them from hunger...
Now I am chasing a bright orange ground-snake (harmless) to play with it. They are good around the house they eat scorpions, spiders, crickets, bugs, termites.

Update! Was feeling hungry so I went to Jack-in-the-box but before I went inside I said what the heck I'll just see if those fuckers are building their webs right now. & they were! The same 2 pictures I posted. The sad part is they both got away! One of them is for sure living inside the side mirror. Damn! I'll get them fuckers next time

I use a fogger like below, not close range cause I dont want to have residue on my paint, but just to get the fumes to kill em or draw them out. Just wipe down the area if it should spatter
    download.jpg
I get em in the mirror, between the cab and bed, in the bed and by the bumper... small ones though lol
Idk if your spider are the same but just before sunset they start coming out and spinning their webs, good time to catch em while they're out
