Apple car play software update for 2019's or later?

I heard that the new 2020 Tacomas will have apple car play installed in them. Has anyone ever heard of later modules being able to go in to the dealership and get a software upgrade so they can have a feature like this?

 

There's been quite a bit of discussion about this, but the general consensus is "no". The current (pre-2020) head units cannot support Apple Car Play/Android Auto. It's a hardware issue, not a software issue.

 

Any radio before the 2020 refresh is not going to get it. Different hardware.

I love Entune for the same reason lots of people like nascar. They pretend that they are fans of the race, but they are really just there for the crashes.
