Seems on my trip to Eastern WA included getting yellow plaint splattered on my mud flaps and lower body. I saw zero signs or notifications, I am very careful about that. By the time I noticed it, there was no high pressure car washes within 50 miles. Now its rock hard and using goobegone isn't doing shit.

Anyone have any suggestions? I thought I took a pic on my phone but I am at work so ill post when i get home tonight.

Google it, there is a few youtube video's on it. Different methods. One of the hardest things to remove.

Gasoline and a rag. Then wash and wax.

The few I saw used Acetone, 50/50 with water. Another used Lacquer thinner. I have used both before, but that was on older paint not newer water borne paints. We use to use oven cleaner also back then to remove painted on pinstripes. I would try in door jambs first with anything, to make it doesn't harm paint. You can try rubbing alcohol also, use this to remove tree sap. It doesn't harm paint at all.

I had white road paint on blazing blue Tacoma, it removed the paint and didn't damage the truck paint. Just do a little section at a time.

Blue can of oven cleaner is less harsh than Yellow can of Easy off. I don't know if I would try oven cleaner on plastic (Mud flaps) Last resort. Test area always first.

Someone covered road paint with furniture paint?

Do you mean laquer thinner? That's the stuff you clean up laquer spills with. That might work but it's harsh and dangerous. Mineral spirits should work. I wouldn't use acetone as that will dissolve clearcoat, or make it milky, or react with wax and explode.

I use a nail polish remover to remove tar, tree soap, my garage frame paint from the bumper ... works well and less aggresive.

Lacquer thinner. Never heard or seen the word Laquer (not a word) in English language.

When I detailed back in college we would spray black grill paint on the fender liners that had this issue. Not an good option for someone who loves their truck but still an option.

I love my truck, a lot. In fact i contemplated going back and finding the pigeon toed, inward facing knee'd, blonde bang, mentally malnourished punk idiot who didn't put up signs and stabbing him in the chest with a rusty pirate ship anchor..... Then my wife reminded me it's illegal. *sigh*

holy crap, STOP before you seriously damage the truck paint or plastic. most of the suggestions in this thread are terrible. Don't use oven cleaner or easyOff. omg. Acetone will eat the finish on the paint. Lacquer thinner will soften the paint. :annoyed:

I had this same problem all over my wife's SUV and white road paint. WD40 was suggested by a professional detailer and it worked great. It didn't damage anything. Some of the textured black plastic took a little bit of rubbing with a microfiber, but it came off clean. Don't push hard, just wipe it.

I second gasoline and a rag, just dispose of it safely or soak it in a degreaser (simple green), let it dry and dispose properly. Gasoline is one powerful solvent. However I'd be worried about it potentially discoloring or aiding in fading plastic like mud flaps and you'll probably want to test in the door sills to make sure it doesn't damage paint. Your mileage may vary.
