yeah it's crazy trying to work the mileage. i am similar to you, but i have seen 20 about 4 times now... in almost 3 years. that's when i'm trying really hard to be absolutely minimal on the throttle while still maintaining my speed. i have noticed that a little bit excess on the throttle when you don't need it to maintain your speed will eat 2+ mpgs straight away. throttle sensitive like crazy.

I'm also on 33" skinnies and haven't been over 16.9mpg. I put the tires on around the same time as the tune, and the Nitto's appear a bit bigger than most 255/80r17s, so maybe that has something to do with it.

It is strange, isn't it. I like not having to care so much.

same here. much more performance and about 0.5-1mpg overall improvement. which is nuts! back when i was using a Pedal Commander before OVT showed i was pushing the truck to get a fraction of the performance i have now (and a miserable driving experience on top), and i was getting 14-15mpg consistently. not happy times.

I just disconnected my battery for 30 minutes. There’s also a way to do it through the P5flash

You have to compensate. Stock is about 660revs/mi and your pizza cutters are 610rev/mi. So, multiply your MPGs by 1.082 ( 660 / 610 ), or 18.3mpg.

Most places like tirerack.com will give you the actual revs per mile for specific tires since they are all a bit different. Tread wear also affects the actual numbers by about 3%, but not much you can do about that.

Yeah, I tried that too, but doing actual receipt math at the gas station has shown I'm only getting 0.3 more than indicated, which very much surprised me. I'm just glad work pays for gas :burnrubber:

This has nothing to do with the computed MPGs versus hand calcs as your odometer is racking up miles differently due to the different wheel diameters.

Nice though. I always wanted a non-office job. Enjoy that!

Yeah, in my case, I multiply everything by 1.079 for true values and use a spreadsheet to track everything.

I get slightly better mpg with 1.05 93 base versus 93 performance; but, it still never hits over 19mpg, regardless of how hard I try to max it out sometimes.

Such is life. It will be really nice if this improves with 2.0, though.

Anyone know if there is there a way for us dongle users to reset learned values thru PCMFlash?

Revs-per-mile calculations are a much more accurate reflection of speed and mileage differences after a tire swap. This affects the calculation and display of all speedometer, odometer, and mpg-based values for the truck.

Plus mat said the flashing progress does it automatically. Only a few trucks that get flashed don’t reset the values for whatever reason

Cool - thanks guys. I was just wondering if there was an easy way to do it separately but I definitely won't loose any sleep over it.
