I recently purchased a 2010 access cab TRD OR, the previous owner had the following suspension mods:

Front and rear Bilstein 5100s set to 0.85"
    OME 887 springs in front
Toytec 3/4" front top plate spacers
    Light racing upper control arms
    Dakar/OME rear leaf packs

The suspension is insanely stiff, I can feel every bump in the road. The road influences my steering wheel quite a bit, at ~60mph the steering wheel shakes unless the road is perfectly smooth. Overall very poor ride quality.

From what I've read on here, the 5100s are the biggest culprit for stiffness. Would lowering the front to 0" have much impact? The labor would be roughly the same as replacing the shocks, so if I'm going through that trouble, I might as well just get better shocks

Overall I'm just wondering what my best (and hopefully inexpensive) option is to improve ride quality. I don't mind losing my lift, I'd rather have the stock suspension than how it rides now. Any input is appreciated

cause you have like 4 inches of lift, shit probably more. set the 5100s to 0 and remove the spacers

Thanks for the advice. Spacers were added to level out the front, the back is already set to 0". So setting to 0" in front and removing the spacer will have the front pointing downward slightly. Will be adding a shell and building out the back for camping, maybe the added weight will make it more level

Rear shocks don't effect ride height, there's no adjustability in the rear unless you start removing or adding leafs, 887 coils alone give you roughly 2.25 inches in lift. So either they sagged a whole inch or you have too much lift in the rear. Or you don't actually have 3/4 inch spacers in the front, but from the info from your first post ide say you have too much lift in the front.

edit: dropping your 5100s in the front to the bottom ring ( the 0 position) will improve the ride, I have almost the exact same setup in the front on my 2005 trd or and I used to run 5100s with stock coils at the highest ring setting ( rode like a wooden wagon) swapped to 885s and 5100s on 0 and the ride is way better. they don't ride like kings but its smoother than its ever been.

A leaf pack was added to the back, so if I want it to sit flush, I'll have to remove that as well. It definitely has too much lift in front. Thanks for the perspective. I'll plan on setting bilstiens to 0", remove spacers and leafs, but keep the 887s and 5100s

    What he said...

887 springs have the same spring rate as 885, but they are 10mm longer. Take the spacers out ASAP.

Having the clips set at .85 is another red flag. 5100's used with OME springs should only be set at 0.

At this point, the vibration could be coming from the CV axles due to the steep angle of the suspension.

What about 5100s with 886 springs?

886s are designed to handle the extra weight of a heavy duty steel bumper and winch. A lot of folks here reported that they ride to hard if you do not have such bumper and/or a winch.
