I realize this is the "lighting" forum and that my ask is not about lighting. But, I figured this was the best spot to get help with some wiring. I am hopelessly lost when it comes to this crap. Anyways, could some please look at the two pictures below and tell me what needs to be connected where? This is for the isolation switch.20190816_170038.jpg

Red 2 taps into any wire under you dash that feeds the dash lights. Black goes to the dash board light ground from any of your other dash board light switches. Edit: I suppose you could connect it to a chassis ground with an eyelet connector if you wanted to.
Green is connected to your fuse panel. red 1 then goes out to your relay. when you flip the switch. power goes from the fuse panel via the green wire, through your switch then out to the relay via red 1 wire. Red 1 will connect to your relay at either pin 85 or 86 on the relay. Most likely 86, but I can't really tell from the way they have it drawn.

I just realized I misstated one of the red wires in my previous post. I just corrected it.

You can put a switch on the low amperage side of a relay

Than you jump the terminals your acting like a failed switch is life or death. I don’t think you understand how a relay works.
