TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

On my 4Runner I used a stock FJ Cruiser muffler. Same as the stock 4Runner muffler but slightly smaller for a bit more sound. With headers and a y pipe it was a bit annoying with any other kind of muffler than stock.

So I just picked up a used Tacoma with a dealer installed Super Charger.

What mods mods are required to hit the 390-400 HP area? Is it just a pulley swap or do I need supporting mods like fuel pumps and cooling upgrades?

I've done some research but the forum has too many pages to figure out which mods give out which amount of horsepower.

If I could avoid spending money to do trial and error allowing to skip to the results for the least amount of money that would be ideal...

You can hit 400hp at the crank with some heavy spending. 400hp at the wheels you have to sign a deal with the devil

 

Ok here's a start.
You need a better fuel pump if you don't want to blow up your motor. If you want 400 HP, you are going to want bigger injectors. To get more boost & power you need a smaller pulley. With the smaller pulley you want an upgraded tensioner. You want to get exhaust gears or custom cams. Open up your exhaust, get a better air intake too. You may want methanol injection to keep the inlet air temps down. And you are going to need a tune to accommodate all these mods. Most people are running HPTuners now.
