Probably right. I dropped hints for my bday, and she tried, but they were back ordered.

Today, I just dropped $200 for kids school clothes, $100 on wine for the wife, and $320 on a gun for the kid.

    Maybe next month.

And you can use 3 racks for ribs, etc. too.

But don't forget the CB rotisserie...

Wow remember those days like they were yesterday, and it wasn't. It will come, in time. Take care of the family first and everything else follows. The $100 wine was a good purchase IMO but I ended up single after 25 years of marriage so what do I know LOL. Should have listened to my grandmother, mother, Aunt Rheta and all 3 of my sisters. Did end up with both sons and the house but it cost me. A lot. In the end worth it however. Someone has to play the adult.

I don't spend all of my money on fine food and drink, guns, dogs, and traveling the country fishing and hunting. I save a little bit to spend foolishly....

When your son ends up winning a shoot against a hundred others in Wi. and the prize is a half gallon of Southern Comfort and he is only 15 and they all look confused what to do and finally say Dad get your ass up here it is also worth it. Although the B. Rizzini guns are in the $2K to $4K range. But better than a $12K Perazzi. You find a way, at least some of us. And you will too

Once he finds out how well the better fly rods cast that is another story too LOL. It will happen and as you age may I suggest the movie "The Great Santini". Just saying...

    He wants a krieghoff!!

Money is fine, just trying to limit unnecessary purchases. Everything bought today was necessary. Well, the wine wasn’t, but she wasn’t going to buy it, so I did for her. That’ll pay dividends hopefully.

The rifle was needed as well. He wants to gun hunt, and i don't have anything appropriate for him to shoot. I want to make it fun for him.

    As you should.

Nothing wrong with the K-80 the more engraving the more it cost though. And my son and I are more into the Italian guns which IMO handle faster and better. Personal preference though.

I am a ridge running woodchuck from the Northern Tier of Pa. and took my youngest son back home for youth season when he was first eligible. Have pictures around here from his first deer that he shot near where I shot my first deer. With my grandfathers thurdy thrudy Winchester 94.

I was young back then. And it was the Epic Center for whitetail

Well canoe paddles are kind of important in this neck of the woods...

Reserved 3 weeks in the middle of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness Area today for end of September and October.

One thing I have noticed is that most smokers are hunters also. And want to make the most of their harvest.

Or anything that they cook. This evening started with a foil pan with holes punched in it with a center punch. 2 onions quartered and covered with bacon grease. And Montreal seasoning.

    Onions.jpg

After a couple of hours time for beans. With the heel of the ham I smoked last weekend which was pretty damn smokey despite using pellets. And onions, spicy mustard, ketchup, honey, Worcester sauce, bacon grease, and of course Pitfaced meat massage as a top coat.

    All smoking.jpg

Oh and added some spring onions, Anaheim peppers, and cheddarwurst.

Almost 5 hours was it worth it for less than $10 dollars of food and fuel? Erhh... yeah, you betcha ya!

Just tossed the brisket on for its night of smoke. Few racks of ribs tomorrow afternoon and the meat will be ready for eatin. :)

Brisket is PF OG rub and ribs will be OG, Unicorn and maybe a SP. got 3 to do.

One thing I hate about the smoker is once I catch a whiff of the smoke I start getting hungry.
