That’s how we do the smaller beds at work.


Doesn’t work on the 8ft bed though

 

Really, if I was you I’d just use the rack as a crane. Strap the bed to the bottom of the rack.

The guy that's building it for me decided to do it cause of the interest that thread generated where you bought yours haha

He already makes them for 2nd gens but since our tailgates are different he needed to get some numbers from mine

I've had my eye on the wrap around from Relentless.

I wasn't sure if I'd like a swing out for the spare since I have the Leer Cap. Relentless has an add-on but then we're really starting to get up there in cost. My spare is doing fine under the bed, no issues.

 

Hmm I'm not a big fan of the plate wrap around, I like the tube wrap like so




might just be the angle of the pic though, makes the Relentless one look really bulky haha. Probably not that big in real life

@Area51Runner what he's making for me just replaces the tail gate, won't be a whole bumper..I'll still be using the rear plate bumper I have now (until I replace it with something better eventually). I do want a wrap around one someday

 

exact opposite here, to me the tube bumpers have always seemed a bit lacking. idk why.

 

I think its probably just the low close up angle of that pic, I saw some others when I was looking for that pic I posted and it doesn't look bad at all

I'm not opposed to tube bumpers in the rear but for the front I definitely want a plate, or at least a plate/tube hybrid
