cabin filter

how difficult is it to replace the cabin filter?...Reason why Im asking, I go ta flyer from Capistrano toyota advertizing "cabin filter replacement Installed $89.00". I believe I removed,cleaned mine and it was easy. could I be wrong, is it not located in the glove compartment?

Ya the ones from logic source are great. I have been using them for 2 yrs now and work just fine. Cheap is a good thing. and these are very easy to change except for getting the little shock back on with out bending the tabs that is the only hard part. I used needle nose pliers to help me a bit.

 

$3.95 for filter. $6.51 shipping...not sure its worth it.

 

Hmm....$89.....does that include bending you over and giving it to you from behind too?

They are actually$ 3.61 a piece and if you order 5 it comes to $5.33 a piece including shipping. So I would think that is better than $89. and your ass isnt as sore

 

I just found this forum,and saw somethign about a cabin filter,i just looked behind my glove compatrment and opened the little door which is above the blower fan( i recently replaced blower fan and resistor) there was no filter in there, so i guess ill go to the dealer and ask about that

 

Just replaced my filter. I bought it at my local AutoChoice....cost me $10.95....funny thing though when I pulled it out of the box there was an installation instruction paper for a 2003 Pontiac Vibe!!! Exact same filter. I wonder what the price difference is at the dealership for a Matrix vs Tacoma....interesting!! I kept the paper in case no one believes me.
Whats all the talk about Genuine Toyota Parts...they are all made in the same factory

When gen2 Tacoma's came out, Toyota provided for the cabin filter but did not begin installing them until the 2006 model year. Maybe a supplier problem ?
