Looking to color match the outside of my grille.

    Sand it down,
Spray adhesion promotor x 3 coats
    Paint color x 3 coats
    Clear coat x 3 coats

Anyone have any suggestions? This should work out alright? Hah.

It's a chrome grille surround I'm spraying to match my silver Tacoma.

Make sure you scuff up the chrome real good. Paint doesn’t like to stick to chrome very well

Will do. Will do some aggressive sanding.

Thinking of getting rid of chrome on rear bumper. You're rocking the same color Tacoma. Whats your bumper look like?

Its not bad shape a small little scratch and a small dent. I polished the hell out of it with the DA5B4FB5FA-83B5-4540-A249-0EB4CFE4041B.jpg

Was yours chrome initially? Right on. Going to get rid of the chrome on my bumper as well.

Also, what's DA polishing. Should I buy this?

If you’re not satisfied with your painted grille you can buy a color match grille from Royal South Toyota/Scion, I paid $212 for mine. I also had my back bumper powder coated, cost me $100.71CAD0F5-63EA-4059-BFEE-547B2C310103.jpgA45D981B-DB29-4DC3-8E62-9BD44555E618.jpg

you will need to wet sand after your clear coats dry overnight and then polish and wax with a orbital polisher to pull the shine back.

Sounds good. I don't have experience with any of that, but look forward to learning!
