I’m well aware German cars are not reliable and have issues. This is common knowledge. My family has a W210 and I’ve worked on it before.

Just scrape some rust off your truck and add it to the etch n sketch aluminum, light on fire and enjoy

Jeez, 16 MPG? That’s as bad as my truck. Maybe a runner isn’t the best commuter vehicle.

The 3.4l was never really known for MPGs in any format except maybe the smaller/lighter 5 lug. If looking for a commuter SUV I would get a RAV4 or something. Good mileage and it's a reliable Toyota

I’m just not a fan of how the RAV4 looks and how small it is. If I was doing Toyota SUV other than the Runner it would probably be a Highlander. Sequoia is a tad too big.

well yeah and the Sequoia drinks gas like the Tundra does lol. Highlander is a solid choice plus they make a hybrid version I think

I'm 34 and never had a fancy car lol

Only 2 new cars I've had were both Scion tCs...one in 2006 and one in 2011. Both great cars, basically a Camry though lol. Put a lot of trouble free miles on both

Im only 20 and I have zero desire to invest heavily in vehicles, especially a German pos that Ill never get anything back out of. House will come before my next car, unless a stupid good deal falls into my hands. At this point in my life, practicality comes before anything else. Thats why I had to take a step back from my truck and realized Id be better off in the long run if I put my money elsewhere, which has been the bank.

@BartMaster1234 if I were you dude, Id get a winch system in place to get that rtt off, then suck it up and keep driving the truck. Save your money so you can get a house of your own and get away from momma and daddy. Independence is bliss, and I hope to achieve that goal next summer.

Just something to take to San Francisco with me till I graduate. Something I won’t care about if it’s stolen, damaged, or marred otherwise.

Little more difficult to be independent in California, especially the SF Bay Area. We have the highest housing prices and cost of living in the country.

And I don’t plan on leaving. I don’t mind on living with the folks till I get my career off the ground. I get to save some money, and it’s a much smarter fiscal decision than moving out right now.

Even with the RTT off it’s still a horrible DD now that it’s supercharged too. It only got 17 MPG NA, don’t even want to know what it is now.

You’re right. I just want something nice for the sake of having something nice, even if it’s a POS in every other aspect. I don’t plan on keeping it longer than two or three years.

If youre only coming home from school on the weekends, driving the truck cant be that bad. Sounds to me like youre just looking for an excuse to buy another car.

But you do what you want, Im just some rando on the internet offering financial advise.

That and I have to leave it there. I fear it won’t be there when I come check on it sometimes.

I dunno. Just want something to keep the miles off the truck and something that’s easier to drive in metro areas like SF.
