In all honesty, when searching in a variety of ways for this it is slim pickin's. This is all I got, which routed me to this page.

I can do the chop, I just need a good welder as I have never touched a welder in my life.

 

Haha dude I think that I speak for everyone when I say, none of us mind answering the same question in an effort to get folks to the right place with the right knowledge.

You just came in and asked immediately after that question was asked at least 4-5 times in the same week

This is one of the most awesome crew of people I have had the pleasure of getting to know and i doubt anyone has taken offense or become resentful about that question (or others for that matter) being asked on a semi regular basis. If someone on here is butthurt about it, that is their problem and not yours haha

 

I can burn in plates if you have them. Cutting on the third gen is a little more timely because of an extra internal piece.

 

How convenient, I just so happen to have a brand spanking new set of plates still packaged in miles of plastic wrap.

The offers for help are most appreciated fellers. If next weekend works best, then I'm game for that.

On a side note, I may be parting with the truck but I'll be sticking around. I need to begin researching what POS (hopefully a diamond in the rough) is going to replace her for now.

I may take you up on that. I've needed to weld a couple of things in the past year, so I may invest in a cheap craigslist MIG welder and teach myself.

 

If you don’t find anyone in the raleigh area, you can always come to Wilmington. Low Range 4x4 does them

 

Is there a difference between 2nd and 3rd gen plates? Looking at the BAMF plates, they have different models. If not, this will save me from cutting some plates out.

No difference. There is an additional support inside the mount on a third gen but patch plate is the same.
