    Good points guys.

I live in a desert, I don't see water while off roading all that often in the immediate area. But the local group often travels a good hour or more for some nice trails that do see their fair share of water crossings, so it was just a concern I'd still had nagging at me was all really.

I mean, good practice before fording is to step out of the truck and check the water depth yourself, isn't it? While you do that, turbo should have time to cooldown.

3-4 guys that have been wheeling together for years. First two do just fine on a particular line. You are the last one. Are you going to stop every time after seeing your buddy with a near identical rig go through that line? Nope. In some environments, water crossings are ever 30 minutes.

The bottom line is that it is clear that Mat is not a "wheeler" and that is not his focus. He can't find water to test in or apparently another beta tester. Virtually none of his comments or test drive videos address off-road issue (tip-in, etc.). And that is fine.

By most accounts he is currently delivering a nice shifting alternative to the stock tune with 2.0. And a least a few hear seem genuinely excited about the turbo he is going to offer that is mounted low. Would it have been great if Mat was an off-road enthusiast with a winch, battery, compressor, etc. and was interested and able (space wise)to build/sell something optimal for the off-road market? Sure. But that's not what we currently have.

It will be interesting to see just what Mat's SC can deliver with respect to power, especially in the low end. We *might* be pleasantly surprised.

I have driven stock truck with exhaust vs 4 or larger, the difference is big, more so with air so I'd say not a waste. I'm curious about the SC kit but what I've seen from centrifugal style blowers they dont make much boost at low rpm.

You're the last one, you wait a few minutes for the front guys to finish crossing, your turbos have cooled down.

Or you have the supercharger kit because Mat has said many times this would be his answer for the offroad guys with concern about the low mounted turbos. You said it yourself, he obviously is not a offroad enthusiast, has limited time and workforce, he can't make everyone happy, but he still developped an option for you.

more air isn't always the answer. I used to have dyno sheets to prove it but it has been a while since I was in the diesel world. That is why all the morons with 5" to 10" stacks on their "chipped" trucks just make me shake my head, all they are doing is spending money to lose power and add drone.

Stupid question: is there a way to make the SC on-demand only? I only ask, because years ago I had a Nissan Frontier with a SC and the gas mileage was horrible over 55mph.

Would be cool if it could be enabled/disabled by a button on @MESO shift knob.

if you want to make this system more complex than it needs to be, I'm guessing that's on you.

    Yep not for sale yet.
I have 5 kits, totally complete ready to go.
But won't be available until our dyno results.
Except the MT tester will get one in advance.

How often are you guys putting a heavy load on your trucks when offroad to get your turbo really hot? I doubt most will even see boost when in low range since the load on the motor isn't much. Deep water crossing are in flat terrain or you're headed down hill into the drainage.

Super chargers are yesteryears tech in my opinion. Just because you're too lazy to take another day on install is a lame excuse to go SC.

Who said they were too lazy to undertake a longer install?

That's the number 1 reason I see people go for a blower over a turbo. A turbo is a little more complicated but they act like it's rocket science.

im wondering why the turbo would take longer... looks pretty simple for the most part. Matt even said it can be done at home.

    basically

SC - bolt on a bracket, bolt on SC, new belt, additional intake piping... done

TT - all that + exhaust piping and oil and possibly cooling lines

probably more but that's the gist of it
