Someone on SD 4runners blew a front strut out at valley of the moons. Anyone got a spare coilover to get him drivable out of the area?

 

Damn, I wish I picked up those 5100s now. I have a Fox 2.5" but they have resis so that would be an issue.

This is why you don't use spacer lifts people.

 

I have my old set of 5100 set at 1.75” but I am pretty far away. I could meet someone in Oceanside though.

 

Valley of the moons to O-side would be 4 hours round trip. There’s a set in. Carlsbad that they may get if they can’t find something closer

Can't he use a factory shock? The picture isn't a 5100.

 

I have my factory 4600 also but they are shock only.

 

Might want the 5100 to account for the spacer. Dunno

 

Yes, that would be the correct long term fix but I was thinking about just getting the truck back to town.

Quick Craigslist search shows no 5100s available in SD right now. Edit: what year is this truck?

 

Edit; it’s a 3rd gen Tacoma.
Any complete coilover should work to get it to the highway. I don’t have a link the the bilstein shocks. It was just another member offering them

 

Gotcha. I was thinking 5th gen due to how clean the underside is. Should be the same shock either way.

I search the local adds and there is only 3rd gen T4R 5100s for sale in SD.

 

Must of ran out of money before he got suspension. Much derp.

 

People don’t fully put thought into suspension setups sometimes. Spacer lifts are much cheaper

 

He’s got a bitchin plate bumper though.

 

I have my stocks but I’m way out in murrieta and also heading to riverside today. That is no help at all.

If we can source some shocks I’m not doing anything today and can meet up with the guy.

 

I got the shocks I took off my 2013 Baja. But someone would need to come to Torrance to pick them up.

I would meet half way or something but the truck is currently torn apart and I'm in the middle of putting it back together.

Probably to far away but they are available if needed.
