Have you considered maybe a different method to charge people?

Such as Paypal or Paypal family and friends?

"Chargebacks" wouldn't be as easy then, or impossible for Family and friends I believe.

Anyone serious about the Tune on/off the forum would trust your reputation and our reviews enough to buy it that way anyways.

I LOVE both betas, 2.0 and 2.0 OLE.

If I didn’t, I’d suck it up and get on with my life. For gosh sake, EVERY tune version has been head and shoulders better than OEM, in shifting, power, torque and mpg.

    Thank you OVTune.

If I had issues with 2.0, I’d flash to a prior tune or stock and report my issues via zendesk as recommended by mat

But 2.0 had been awesome over ~2000 miles so far. Mat has turned this into a completely differed truck and it’s well worth the money.

Very rarely can you buy a product that isn’t one and done. @OVTune could’ve stopped a long time ago and said it is what it is. Hopefully after the final 4.88 version drops I can sign off this forum and move on

    I wouldn't have an issue running 2.0, I'm enjoying it over 1.05.

What's not to like? Pulls in all gears and gets better gas milage. Holds overdrive on interstate. 2.0 = Money!!

Drive the truck for a while and figure out if you need the tune. Toyota might up their game with the refresh.

Also, it will take @OVTune a while to get a tune developed for the 2020. Just sit back and wait for it if you go down this road.

Tried to data log today with the Toyflash utility. When I click "connect" I get the spinning windows thing and then the window closes. The truck was running. Do you need to set it up with IGN on but not running?

Yes, he did. But, it is going to take quite a while to get a tune out after actually getting the truck. Even longer if they did a major change in ECU architecture.

Will be doing that anyways, just thought I'd ask. Knowing it's a beta tune and all. Just want to get some opinions.

Wtf is going on in here? First thing come to mind when I read this person post about not being able to justify purchasing a 700 tune was why the fuck are you even still in this thread? Lots of bullshit post again.

$700 is not a lot for a tune. If you look at other tunes, you will see that it’s actually on the low end.

GIAC (VW/Audi): upwards of $1,000, depending on the car

    Dinan (BMW): upwards of $2,600.

“Disappointment is the sum of unmet expectations.”

I don’t know what the expectations are from the tune, but it fixes exactly what Mat promised; shifting and a bit more HP.

Don’t get mad at the price. It’s not Mat’s fault you’re poor and overextended yourself on a car payment stretched out over 84 months.

If $700 was too expensive then the free market would reflect that by people not buying the tune. But since there is a large group of people that are buying it at the current pricing, proves that it is priced correctly. If it were too expensive, no one would buy it, then @OVTune would have to adjust accordingly.

Don’t confuse “expensive for you” with expensive.

Yes, and the hardware (cable & Tactrix) are about half the price.

I’m driving a 2018 AT DCSB 4x4 OR on 04A61 running 2.0 OLE beta. 2 inch lift, running 33’s. Got a couple tanks of gas on the tune and find it to be overall smoother than 1.05 Perf. I personally found 1.05 Base to not have enough tip-in and response for the extra weight. I got used to the 1.05 Perf tip-in and wasn’t bothered by it so much even in stop and go LA traffic and still found it considerably better than stock.

2.0 feels more refined, the tip in is smoother but still enough to make the truck move with ease. I notice 6th gear not maintaining speed going from flats up slight grades and requiring excessive pedal pushing to cause a downshift specifically in the 60-70mph range. I happily know that is being addressed as this is a Beta tune released specifically for feedback and to solve any common and less desirable conditions. Overall, very pleased, took a drive the other night just to enjoy a drive. Keep it up @OVTune !!

Running 04B04 2.0 beta 87 octane tune for 4.88's on stock tires. This is the best the truck has ever run. Shifts are firm and precise. Low end torque and overall power make it feel like an entirely different truck. Solid in every way. Thank you Mat @OVTune. Best investment I've made in this truck. Worth every penny.
