    i dont dig the foot pedal but then again i jam myself up in the tightest of spaces and a foot pedal would not help one bit. im a ship welder not a shop welder:D

    nah i use miller welders from the diesel dual op to carry around xmt's dynastys 280's and maxstars

    dual op is bad as when carbon arcing at 600 amps . lines jump when you start

    just depends on where the job is some places its thick as hell. ive done up to 3 inches. i arc 1/4 inch at 200 amps with 125 psi

    oxidation will trash a weld quind it takes alot of heat to burn it off . try wire brushing it and wiping it down with denatured alchol or an alum cleaner
