Mine is pretty awesome. It makes it run like a V6. It's not going to knock your socks of, but in 2nd and 3rd gear, it'll set you back in the seat. Out on the highway, climbing hills and passing can be done without downshifting for the most part. Mine is on a 2.7 ltr 5 spd truck.

Since you have one, did you do the install yourself? and how much did it cost you?

Yes I did it myself. I want to say $3600 ish.. I would say it's worth it though. The install isn't all that bad, the instructions are good. Just take your time and you won't have too many problems..

LC does NOT have a supercharger kit available for the 2-trfe 2.7l (05+ tacos)....yet? I've heard rumors about them coming out with one shortly after Alpine's, to make improvements and see what they can do better?. I'll will be waiting for LC to come out with theirs.
The supercharger kit they have you think is the same, is not the same; it's for the first gen tacos (2rz/3rz) like yours. Just because they are both 2.7l, they are not the same.
It's too bad TRD hates on Yota four bangers, especially when there is a V6 in the same model.

Just talked to one of their sales, JOhn at alpine... just fyi, the S/C they have out now for the 2.7L 2nd gen is not for the 4wd... they are still modifying it, should be about 2 months away from production and ordering. I am definitely getting one once they are done.

I saw some install pics of the alpine s/c, and it looked as it you have to remove or modify the front skid plate due to hoses or piping? I would hope not, I need that plate!!!

Just wait for the URD S/C (whenever they finally release it ). The alpine s/c seems like you need to do a lot of modifying to make everything work.

Right on. I'm not thrilled about buying my engine parts from South Africa anyway...
