Oh and on a shitty side note I took the rear driver side tire off to cut the bolts and when I put the tire on I snapped a stud off. Can't win them all I guess.

Not particularly. I've pushed way to many of my vehicles off the road in my youth. Also I thought it wasn't good for the pump to run it down low.

Usually that might mean the lug nuts are worn out, I had 3 that snapped on one wheel last month so I bought new lug nuts all around

Cool I'll keep it on then. The only really rusty spots was back by the bumper. There's also a hole in the driverside wheel well, havnt dug real deep yet to see how I'm going to fix that.

The rust is toward the rear section of frame , tire carrier to the number. And the hole is driverside frame. But I have some work to do on the bed aswell but it's on the passenger side.

Ouch. Seeing that makes me sick to my stomach a bit, especially with how clean the frame looks around that spot. Gonna give mine a real good inspection before this October when my frame warranty runs out. I take it youre in Northern Indiana?

I'm southeast of indy. Yea the rest of the frame still has nice black paint on it I'm surprised. The hole is not all the way thru yet, just pushed in real good lol. Showed itself today when I was wrenching. Thinking of pushing it thru using a hot water pressure washer inside the frame to clean it out. And weld a good size patch over it , and fluid filming the fuck out of it.

A wee bit of antiseize on those threads would save a lot of problems, IMHO!

Thats about all you can do. Pretty easy spot to weld on by the looks of it.

I take it winters up there can be pretty bad. My truck was from Roanoke Va, and the crc seems to have done its job. No rust on the frame rails aside from where the step bars were at one time. Even though I brought it further south, I still like to keep it greasy with fluid film.

Picked this up today. Rear axle seals to change soon... At least, that was the excuse.

...[Well on our way, we soon arrived at] the Manning Bridge. A "half" suspension bridge, it was put into service in June 2018, replacing an earlier model that was built in 1934. Just as interesting as the bridge itself - at least in my opinion - is a rock on the north side of the river, which was ground down with some circular grinder - its face polished and gray, a stark contrast to the natural rock around it.

Check it out (and a lot more) in IDBDR Pt. 5 - (No More) Gold in Them There Hills
