I’m already searching for an equally as terrible project to replace it with.

You should’ve seen the battery cables before I fixed them. They weren’t even bolted to the posts.

I would replace the alternator/positive harness - I planned on doing it if I kept it.

Also don’t forget to replace the seatbelt, or find a way to fasten the alignment tab. It’ll do it’s job in a crash but I wouldn’t count on it for any longer than finding the right one.

That makes total sense. I was freaking out last night when it wouldn’t shift into any gear at all with the engine on, sometimes it just didn’t want to go into first.

Guess I just need to know the way of the manual.

Once they warm up, it gets easier. Getting my 04 in reverse in the mornings can be a bear. For some reason, clutching in and out once or twice solves the problem.

Out of the three manuals I’ve attempted to drive, a ‘93 Civic, ‘18 BRZ, and the ‘98 Tacoma — the 5-Lug was the easiest to get ahold of. I told my friend with the Honda I didn’t use the gas when reversing in the 5-lug and he thought I was crazy. I always just used the clutch to reverse, never needed the gas and it would never stall.

Looks like the Prado/GX line. What was it? 150 series?

Also, who buys only 1.8 Gallons of gas? That receipt was in the pump when I got gas earlier.

Oh the wheels paint had a paint code, like the OEM paint code? Proffitt's work is top of the line, their story is cool

Kinda sad to see it gone, but it’s better off than having it sit.

In my experiences Toyota manuals can be vastly different. All 3 of mine have very different clutches. The 08 you practically have to floor in reverse or else it will stall, seems to be geared way low or high (forget which). The 92 has a very light clutch pedal that you cant even really feel the breaking point for, 08 is super stiff and pushes you up into the seat, my 04 is right in the middle, and my favorite to drive. My buddies old 08 was like my truck, very easy to get the hang of, unlike my dads truck of the same year.
