I don't need bass. Just want to hear the music a little better with the winders down. Thanks for the help, great video. It'll come in handy

For sound deadening, see pictures below. You do not want to leave those huge holes in the doors. That actually hurts sound quality. Deaden the inner door skin and the outer door skin. These are the door on my 4Runner.

Good to know. I've got plenty of the sound deadening material leftover so will probably fill those areas in. Any tips for getting that tar-like glue off (that holds the plastic sheet) in the summer heat?

No reason to remove it. Stick the sound deadening right over it.

With my stock speakers I had the volume usually on 35 when the windows were down and with the new setup I have it a 25 with a better sound and nice thump.

Maybe it's because we both have '14 access cabs?o_O Are the speakers worse in ours than in the double cabs?

Honestly they probably are. Double cabs have rear door speakers and we don’t. Mine has some tiny ones in the headliner that barely put out any sound at all

I'm in a '13 DC and I'm the same way. 50+ easy for windows up. Vol. Max with windows down and can't hear shit. I know I have hearing issues. But it's not that bad, I don't think.

I'm sure I could re-watch your video and find out but if you don't mind, how much sound damping did you get and how much have you used in total if you had to guess?

So far for the back wall and 4 doors I'd guess nearly 1 full box of the 36 sq ft Noico option: https://amzn.to/2Hitt4A I do plan on adding more sound deadening to all 4 doors to cover all of the large opening in the inside wall of the door frame and probably to my roof as well.

I don't know about you guys but I'm ready for the cool Autumn weather. Hard to be motivated to work on the truck in this disgusting humidity when you have no garage and your truck sits in full sunlight all damn day.

Personally I wouldn't put sound deadening over those holes. What happens when you need to replace the window motor or the regulator? I commented on your video about keeping the plastic that went there it is a moisture barrier.

With the speakers you have you'll be good with just doing some of the inner skin. Stinger fast rings or similar will help a ton at directing the music into the cabin. If you really want to cover those holes get some 1/8" abs cut it to the shape drill some holes in the abs and the door and put some threadcerts in the door so the panel can be removable. Just put some foam on it where it touches the door so it doesn't rattle and will seal up.

You need to go and watch Car audio fab and 5star car audio before you get too carried away with the sound deadener.
