Two items that I think affect pricing are the Elite model is made of stainless steel and has a 5-year warranty over the Plus model which is black painted and 4-year warranty. The base model is zinc plated hardware, the lift itself looks smaller in diameter, and looks overall as a lower grade system with regards to materials- (not trying to infer lower performance).

^ yellow said. I ordered the mid-range since there's plenty of rust elsewhere on my truck, I couldn't justify the SS ;) should be arriving in the next day or two!!

Just got mine and installed them today! Man, this is so nice! Later in the day, I was changing my accessory belts and found myself sprawled out on the engine bay to reach that pesky power steering pump tensioner due to the truck’s lift making it an awkward height. There was no way that I could have safely done that with the crummy old hood prop.

Anyone considering this, do it! And anyone who hasn’t considered it yet, start considering it. It took 30 minutes.

Just make sure you have a heavy duty riveter. I broke two cheapo ones on Redline supplied rivets. These rivets are made for tanks.

Besides that it is awesome product. Mounted exactly at the points where instruction says they keep the hood about 1 inch higher than original stalk.

It’s made with stainless steel but the same struts as the mid level. Seems like most people are getting the mid level one. The lowest is different internals and generally less rugged. I went mid and once I lift the hood about an inch or two, it takes it from there! While installing, one was able to completely support the hood.

And yes, get a decent riveter! Beastly rivets!

    Love my redlines.

Wish we had the tail gate ez drop down kits as well. I guess they were out there for a little while but must have not sold well.

Never installed them. I wrecked my 1st gen and my 2nd came with them already installed. They work great though.

I also still have the set for 1st gens. Several attempts to sell fell through so I stopped trying. I have them on a shelf so I'll probably post them again.

I like my Redlines, but the fitment is slightly off on my truck. The hood sits a few millimeters higher near the struts than it did before I installed them, so it's a bit of a shame. Most people wouldn't notice it though.

Why would it be like that? You don't touch hood hinges.

There was a post, I thought it was TW but I don't see it in my list of saved stuff. Anyway to fellow sourced all the parts on Amazon. That's the gas springs, fittings and brackets for a pretty good savings. All the parts are "off the shelf" items.

I think there was some factory sealant on the lower mounting surface i didn't bother to remove, thus the lower bracket doesn't sit completely flush. It exerts some pressure on the hood when closed. Hard to notice unless viewing from a low angle.

That may be a factory flaw because mine is the same but I will tweak my hinge before I slap on the elites.
