I like scotch. Glenlivet is my favorite semi-affordable choice. Neat, room temperature.

Oh, and I love Guinness! Just kind of a seasonal beer for me. Once the weather cools off, I'll be enjoying some of those.

I was sitting having a drink at the Trump International Hotel & was looking over the bourbon and whiskey menu & noticed the 23 year old pappy van winkle family reserve for $700/ounce (that's 1 drink)

If I ever win the lottery I might try something like that. Glenrothes had a 1978 vintage, my birth year. It would be cool to try that.

Try Glendronach and Dalwhinnie. Had both recently and was blown away, though the age may have helped that.

Man card revocation: Mixing scotch with coke. Mix JB or ON7 all you like, but don't waste the good shit!

Judging by the sandy vaginas in this thread, there's quite a few ways to loose the man card. Heres a sure fire way to regain it:

Agreed! Except for cheap scotch. I've drank Dewars and coke on occasion. I can't drink rail mixers.

I have also drank many of those! My buddy Vinny would always buy Old Milwaukee and Thompson's whiskey when we would go catfishing. Anytime someone got a fish, we'd pass the bottle around. Good times!

Since the conversation has gotten back to a topic manly and worth discussion, have you tried Monkey Shoulder? It's a Glenfiddich blend IIRC and it goes down smoothly yet boldly. Great flavor and finish, and none of that dirt taste that my brother loves (he's all about Laphroig).

For whiskey, I've been enjoying 1792. Great feel and taste.

Gotta love the modern "whiskey rush." Everyone trying to outdo everyone else has given us some outstanding options.

It’s jealousy. It’s all fun and games until they walk into a USAF DFAC. Then they’re like kids in a crayon factory.

And on the beer discussion, I'll just leave this here...

"According to the 1516 Bavarian law, the Reinheitsgebot:

We hereby proclaim and decree, by Authority of our Province, that henceforth in the Duchy of Bavaria, in the country as well as in the cities and marketplaces, the following rules apply to the sale of beer:.. the only ingredients used for the brewing of beer must be Barley, Hops and Water. Whosoever knowingly disregards or transgresses upon this ordinance, shall be punished by the Court authorities' confiscating such barrels of beer, without fail... "

You haven't become a a real man until you're so broke the only thing you can afford is Steel Reserve...

Me personally... I started drinking Keystone Light back when I was low on funds and now I'm just so used to them that's all I drink. Anytime I'm out and about and have to get a mainstream beer they just don't taste right.
