Well my 2015 ADS coilovers need to go out for a rebuild. These Canadian winters are tough on the seals. Plus the 650# Eibachs are taking a beating with the weight of the bumper/hitch/battery. I've adjusted the ride height several times and the stress level is just too high on the 650s for them not to sag/creep over time.

I need a set of coilovers in a hurry so I think I'm gonna go with off-the-shelf Kings with a 700# spring (25001-151). Micah at DSM assures me I can preload them for 1.0" or 1.5" lift.

    Any thoughts appreciated.

    Nothing yet.

Won't have a day off until Wednesday, and once I'm off I'm going to start the installation of my Wilco Tiregate.

Maybe with the added weight, I can go back to my Fox 2.0 rear shocks o_O

I'm prolly gonna send them back for a rebuild to have something on hand for this kind of situation. I'm basically stranded without a set of coilovers.

Im helping my buddy pick out a mid travel suspension for his 03' Double cab, and so far I gave him 3 options: Kings front and rear, 2.5 Fox front and 2.0 fox rear, and bilstein 6112s front and 5100 rear. Kings are probably out of his budget. So maybe an option between the bilsteins and the Foxs

I bought the fancy eBay tool. Figured the time savings and lack of frustration would make it worth it, esp. given that dealers here want $1700-2000 for the job.

So ADS is pretty pricey, comparable to kings. So probably not a good option for him. But ill look at RadFlo right now. I was also think the Toytec Boss kit might be a good affordable option for him, I just remembered that one.

Oh yes, they apparently released a rebuildable version instead of the disposable ones that @turbodb and others have gone though. I wasn't aware these were available for the 1st gens yet.

You mentioned Fox 2.5, which is similarly priced to Kings and ADS?

Should direct your buddy to this forum, and join in on a group buy if budget is really an issue.

Hes aware of the forum, just not so tech savvy. lol I told him in person to go for ADS. The reviews look too good! I will be replacing my ICON stuff with ADS eventually.

AFAIK, the rebuildable Toytec are only for 2nd/3rd gen. Regardless, the price on them is so similar to King/ADS/etc. that I see no reason to go with them - just go with the (IMO better) King/ADS/etc.

That said, I'll continue to say that as a first "mid-tier" front suspension setup, the non-rebuildable Toytec BOSS were a great set. Gave me the ability to understand how an upgraded suspension works; gave me adjustability as I did other mods; wasn't as expensive as going all-out in case it turned out that I never really did a ton of offroading. Made it so that I was much more educated on my second purchase.

Doesn't hurt the pump at all, as long as there's fuel to run the engine the pump is cooled. They run the fluid through their internals

I stressed to him that he should go with ADS, but its easier to spend someone else money for them lol. I did ICON all around as my first upgrade and not knowing much about progressive and digressive shocks or valving etc. Now I really want to go to ADS with resi's and adjusters.
