Got the idea from @Vyprdad for a little Sunday wheeling. Anyone interested? I was thinking 10 a.m. meet-up around Auburn (In-n-out?) and then head-up 80 by 10:30 a.m. Anything easy to moderate, so stock Tacomas can join. I'm personally not running any armor (bumpers or sliders) and don't want to do any damage.

I've done a run out to Fordyce Lake before https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/fordyce-creek-4x4-trail and it's pretty easy if you just go to the Lake. Anything past the lake is pretty narly. I'd like to try something new though, if anyone has any ideas.

Something to swim in and have some beers would make it perfect.

Let me know if anyone is interested.

I still owe @Speedo and @FirstTimeFirstGen some beers for a rescue job!!!

If you go from the 80 side, it’s pretty easy.

But the real reason for the post is I think they might be working on part of the Fordyce trail. Might wanna check first.

I know that area around the Fordyce and Sterling lake area well. I’ve deer hunted that area for over 20 years. The first 2/3 of the road from hwy 80 to Fordyce is a fairly easy logging road. When you get to Sterling lake on your right the road to Fordyce starts. It’s a 4wd road but fairly easy. No problem for stock trucks. After Fordyce the going gets serious, rock crawling serious.
On the road in just before you get to Sterling lake(a gorgeous mountain lake) there’s a road to the right. Take that road and there are miles of logging roads. There is also a way to get into the back side of Sterling lake which is beautiful. Keep going and you’ll find small mountain lakes and ponds. One road leads to a large granite area that you can drive over and come to other beautiful areas.
The only problem is the locals know the area well and there’s often a lot of people up there on the weekends.

I tried to get next Sunday off. No bueno. Two people on vacation and I can’t get off. I could only do a Monday or Tuesday. I also have no armor too soo need to keep it calm until then. I just ordered RCI rock sliders yesterday. But that will be a few weeks before I get them. What other armor should be the next I should get?
