I have the stealth front bumper, I dont remember the name. You keep the plastic and dremel out spots for the d-rings and winch. I decided I wanted my hi-lift there, because I hate permanent things in the bed. Check out my custom work. Let me know what ya'll think.

That looks cool but I never really understood the bumper mounted jack. Wouldn’t it be the first thing to hit on a steep face and also risk damage making it both an obstruction and possibly rendering it useless when you need it most?

    Just my two cents

The work looks good, I just question the location for the high lift jack. If you run in to an obstacle, it will probably be in the front and I can think of:
    A) Damage to the jack
    B) Not being able to get to the jack

I do not intend to urinate on your parade, it just seems like a bad place to mount it.

I second what they said ^^^^ Seems odd that you don't like things in the bed, but don't mind sticking it on the front bumper.

Not to mention it's gonna get blasted with everything, including road salt (depending where you live) which will really shorten it's life.

I would at least get one of those covers that they make for the area where the pin and spring are for that Hi Lift, otherwise a bunch of road grime and crap is going to mess it up in short order

Yeah it's a daily driver that sees trails twice a month. Road grime might be an issue down the road, I doubt it, it sits pretty high. I dont get the steep obstacle comments. It's not a dedicated crawler, but it sits a lot closer than a full bumper would. I'd rather hit with my 50 dollar hi lift bolted to the frame than pop headlights and bodywork. But yeah it's not exactly difficult to think ahead and throw it in the bed if I'm worried about it.

Approach angle, a measurement that is a major consideration in an off road rig. This modification is for an off road rig and negatively effected that.

This modification is for a daily driver that hits trails. The stock plastic bumper will hit long before this does. Take your high horse and ride on somewhere else.

No one is trying to down talk you, just trying to help. If it fits your purpose for a clear bed while DD do it! I like the look, but like you mentioned earlier you can pull it off and toss it in the bed on the trail so you don’t nose dive it and can’t get to it.

I can think of a number of scenarios where having your Hi-Lift mounted to your bumper is a bad idea.

Run it for a while and see how you like it, that’s what matters. If it sucks you can change it, but if it works good for then there you go.

You're the one that asked for our input and so far everyone has given valid suggestions in a mature manner. No need to get upset.
