I usually start with a “hey baby, wanna wrestle?”... I may try that “love you hun” instead.

She’ll probably figure it out when 240 pounds of knobby rubber is sitting at the front door.

So a serious question, are some of you guys with RTT’s gonna camp, then fold it up and go wheeling? I don’t mean to come across demeaning but don’t those things have some weight to em? And if anyone’s done it before does it get annoying folding/unfolding everyday? <— If the answer to that question is no, do you guys drink?

I don't drink an not, its not that big a deal or to me it wouldn`t be cause it takes 3 minutes to fold it down, then go offroading, then 3 minutes to set it back up. If your going wheeling wouldn't really need to put the cover back onto it unless you`re going through some rough tree`d areas. And yes, their about 150-185 for a big one.

I know a guy that keeps an aluminum floor jack in his when it’s folded up.

Last year we bolted one of the @ChandlerDOOM RTTs to the LandCruiser so @MoTacoma could sleep in it. The first night he did, but once the rest of the crew showed up with coolers he slept in a ground tent.

    Here is my experience,

You can wheel with that set up with the right leaf spring rating no issues.

i have just and AAL, had the arb simpson iii rtt (150lbs), kb shit rack 10g steel (80lbs), a kitchen box (100lbs) and 66l fridge(70lbs) a total woopin 400 extra lbs. I wheeled the truck no issues at SMORR, some technical trails and moderate.

I sold the rtt, the rack is on the balcony, and got rid of the kitch box. Why? Less weight, much better wheeling experience.

When i was on MOAB with my mom last year on top of the 400 i had 15 gal of water, 10 gal of fuel, bags and other camping gear so i was rocking probably an extra 300 lbs. Was able to get on hell's revenge and did some of that trail and could have went further but had a schedule to stick to.

As for the RTT its not a 3min thing unless its the aluminum type rtts those are less than 3 min and at least $3000. It takes a good 10 min to set up and a little more to put back. U have to remember it aint always sunshine and nice weather outside. Yes it gets annoying to fold and unfold every day i did that for a two week trip, same thing with other tents except for the aluminum ones those are quick and easy to set up

    Pros
    • For a family or a couple its great especially if the significant other or kids arent too comfortable being in the elements close to the ground etc...
    • Its nice to sit up high if your set up in a nice location, get a nice breeze in etc..
    • It gives you cover, i had mine fold towards the tail gate and came in handy several times as we cooked food under the rain.
    • You can set it up anywhere your truck parks
    • Easy to set up and doesnt take much time (depending on the weather)

    Cons
    • Price
    • Weight
    • If its windy good luck sleeping you will feel like the tent is going fly of the rack but it aint, and i was under tree cover and not in the open.
    • U can take it down by yourself and put it back up it will take you a minute and a pain in the ass unless you have a pully system set up at home.
    • Depending how it sits on your truck wind drag
    • You need a rack for it, more wieght more money
Thats what i can think of while :poking: Hope it helps
    I dont drink:D

Plus if it’s been dusty on the tracks, the cover will be as well. This means that every time you go near the cover you will get dusty.

I’ve been thinking of getting rid of my Undercover SE. I want to start loading my bike in the bed. This is the only pic I have currently. It’s a hard cover with two keys.
