I'm catching up Ron, better get posting. Just kidding!
Day off today. Beautiful day here in the Northeast, not a cloud in the sky. Chilling on the deck again havin' a coffee, puffin on a good cigar and catching up on TW again. Amazing how far behind you get in a day or two.
Hope all my TW brothers and sisters are having a nice day as well. Can't wait to retire........., I could get used to this!

Been done for a long time.
Been done for a long time. Working on a new project now. Probably a little crazy since it has been around 50 years since I last tore an engine down from top to bottom in a High School auto mechanics class. I bought a couple of heads from a salvage yard and I plan on porting and polishing them and then installing titanium valves which are 40% lighter than stock valves. This will lower the reciprocating mass which will allow the red line to be safely raised to 7500RPM using OV tune. Notice that there is only one exhaust port which is going to be quite a challenge. I am guessing that this is going to be about a 2 month process.

Added the OEM roof rack last night. Took 4 hours to install. The last bolt took an hour and a half.

I ended up throwing some silicone sealant in the holes as the bolts went in. Hopefully no leaks.

Remember that I have been retired for the last couple of years and this is just one of my hobbies. It would get very boring sitting around and doing nothing. I have downloaded the 11000+page service manual for the 3rd gen Tacoma and have been doing a lot of studying. These engines are a lot more complicated than what I worked on in High School. It should be an interesting project.

    Bored?
I can't for the life of me picture you being bored.
I've got more hobbies than Carter has liver pills. I'd have to look up the definition of bored.
You younger guys will have to Google "Carters Liver Pills." :anonymous:

Mines a Kraut as well. Little bitty thing. Hardest working woman I've ever seen. Makes most of my friends look like wimps. I'd say we both done well!

    Don't start at 6 pm.

The bolt on the right swing arm is a PITA as well. That took 3 shots. Take it slow and don't push things and you should be ok

there is a little metal piece that receives the bolt that is held in with a rubber o ring and a plastic clip. You can't put any pressure on the swing arm bolt as you install or else it falls out
