Just a bunch of old crap
It was part of a huge project. New bumpers, lights, trim, interior, engine leak work, suspension, steering, etc. New bed rack powdercoating, blah blah blah. I figured why not do the whole thing at one time

hey man this came out great. thanks for posting. i am looking far into the future with my truck. like all my vehicles before this Tacoma, I'm planning to drive her to the point when i gotta do a full resto project like that. good to know the advantages you listed. but i probably got 100k miles before I'm there. currently at 50k and clean!

It was a one-off that I recently sold. Now I have this one. Avid Offroad made it custom for me. Literally everything locks down.

This is one of the first things I'll do if I win the lottery. Been saying that for years, but never buy lottery tickets...

This is a great idea and the ones in here that are done look kick ass.

    I'm digging that.

I'll probably use Monstaliner on my truck one day, when it's old an scratched to shit.

Way better product on the market than that stuff. Only going to get better as time passes and new coatings are developed.

Dealership in town here has a local truck supply spray Scorpion coating on lower panels and truck beds. The trucks I have seen it on has the orange peel texture to it.

Most of these coatings have a grit additive that the coating mixer can leave out to give the orange peel texture. That's what I had done with mine. Leaves a finish that can be wiped dry with a towel without snagging.

Yeah that is what the guy told me that sprays Scorpion coating on here locally. Line-X guy told me the same thing when I was going to get the cab roof and hood done on the 2016 SR5 I traded off. Would of been real nice not to have to wax those 2 areas.

I am seriously considering this because I have a black Taco and getting over keeping it clean. But my only concern is salt. I live in the PNW and during winter they salt the roads and use methanol as well. Anyone have any experience with salt and possible fading? I might do black Line-X but if the salt can stain it I might look into a color.

New 2019 TRDOR owner here and new to the boards. Been finding lots of helpful info as I start modding my taco, found this while contemplating Line-X for mine down the road. I had a motorcycle I did this to and it turned a lot of heads when I’d whip out my keys and run them down the gas tank. No question if I had the cash to blow right now I’d linex my a taco in super white and black accents in a second. It’s tough as nails, easy to clean. looks badass and fuck resale

the Line-x shop I went to had a military contract so it was either all black or army green for the cheapest. I got rear ended on the bike a month before so insurance paid for it, it was like 1k. Then shortly after this pic it got totaled wouldn’t hesitate to cover any truck with it.

also it adheres to plastic just fine, front and rear fender are both plastic, tank was metal side covers also plastic

The red looks like those dodge balls from grade school. Wouldn't be my first choice in color

yeah red wouldn’t be mine either but done right on the rest of the mods and it could look sick…color is subjective but hats off to the mid as a whole for sure
