As far as I know there isnt a piston driven AR9 upper on the aftermarket side unless a mom and pop show is doing them. I think a lot of it has to do with the blow back design and how dirt 9mm is. Maybe call New Frontier Armory and see if their side charging upper would work.

No there is :) Trust me, I have a standard AR15 lower using an endo mag and a 9mm upper. It's as easy as swapping an upper and a mag.

Ok but as I read the post it says to convert a 9mm to as pictured a 556. So how is that possible? 556 to 9 yes not the other way around Unless the 9 is a standard 556 with a mag conversion lol.

Im using a standard 556 lower with a mag converter and a 9mm upper. I did say I wanted to convert my AR9 with a buffer tube into a piston AR9, not into the exact thing that was in the picture

The exterior steel parts are Ionbond coated, minus the Wilson parts and mim slide stop which are all blued. Trigger (aluminum), firing pin (titanium), barrel, guide rod, sear and sear spring are and stainless steel. Aluminum frame is anodized and everything else is parked. They look good for being 4 years old and around 7k rounds and near daily carry.

Most of my mim parts have been replaced with Wilson bulletproof parts.

Anyone need 5.56 ammo? Going through inventory now, have some good stuff and great stuff I need to get rid of, cans included.
