Red is the high spot...so yeah when red is present you would ignore yellow but line it up with the valve stem is my understanding...I can only speak from my experience as I just had a set installed two weeks ago Basically they did each tire twice ended up on yellow and all four balanced with just a few ounces. I don’t recall if they set the red dot 180 degrees out but it does make sense being the high spot and opposite the valve stem.

 

I'm no expert, as I don't have Falken's yet, but I want them when I get new tires... Doesn't Falken recommend to skip the red dot and use the yellow dot to align with the valve stem? I could've sworn I've seen that posted elsewhere, numerous times.. Maybe it was in the falken thread in the "tires" section.

Suppose it doesn't matter if they're balanced and no issues though.

 

I have stock sport rims (plasti dipped) with wildpeaks with stock suspension, I’ve had them for about 3000 miles with absolutely no problems or complaints! Love them

 

Stock suspension too?

Any chance you have a side pic handy? I really like how that rim looks blacked out!

 

I would love to see if these in a 275 would fit a stock sport on stock wheels . According to there site between a 265 and a 275 isn’t much different .

I have no experience, I literally just looked it up to learn something. This is a excerpt I just copied/paste. It doesn’t look like the red dot is supposed to line up with valve stem but rather a marking on the wheel (not all wheels have this marking, so that’s when you would use the yellow dot). It seems that using the red dot should be tried first (again depending on if the wheel has the so called simple)

I was just trying to suggest (really asking a question) if they possibly lined up the tires using the red dot method rather than the yellow & valve stem

 

That’s the stock size so it shouldn’t have any issues regardless correct? I’m confused about that post saying no issues on stock

 

I emailed Falken when my tires had vibration issues and here is their direct quote:

"Thank you for contacting Falken Tires.
We recommend mounting with the yellow dot closest to the valve stem to get the best balance with the least amount of additional weights."

 

They also should have said good luck LOL. From reading all the Wildpeak threads it seems the 265/75/16 size has the most issues. Out of those from what I can tell its the 116T/SL load rated tire that gives the most vibration problems. Anyone with the E-rated tire have issues with vibrations?

 

End up coming back in what sense? End up coming back for more? I probably will, maybe in a diff size tho. Or they come back because they need em fixed or something?

 

Yeah, I know first hand. After 6 trips to discount tire for vibration issues, they swapped them for BFGs and they’re perfect.

 

I think KO2's will be my next tire but worried that they wont be good in snow compared to the Wildpeaks.

 

I should have clarified that. End up coming back with issues.

 

My discount tire said the same thing. Sure enough, I was one of those that came back with issues and had to go with another tire all together.

Curious how much of this is installer error- as in they really don’t give a f and send you on your way.

It does make me rethink these tires though

 

The majority is installer error.
Especially at America’s tire/discount tire.

 

Mine balanced great and ride good. Tracks straight, just are wearing fast and look dry rotted with tread cracking at 9500 miles and getting worse. Haven't even had them a year. At this rate, I may get 27-30k before they're toast. I think the SL are to light for this truck. Haven't seen e rated issue and get a deeper tread 14/32 vs 18/32.
