Why kings to hold you over for a rebuild? Why not go with stupid cheap billies or something? Seems silly to spend king premiums for something that will sit on the shelf during rebuilds. Or are you going to try to resell after?

    Just smells waaaaaay worse.

I kept my 5100s and 881s for that reason, just to have on hand for when my Kings get rebuilt. I have a TW member local to me that rebuilt an older pair of SAW's for me in less than 2 days so I'll probably just keep my truck on jack stands and not even bother swapping in the 5100s. Rebuilds are quick and easy if you keep it local (or DIY) and don't have to ship them out.

Are they gen 1 or gen 2 SAW's. I have a rebuild kit you can have as a backup if they are gen 1's.

Appreciate it but I got them rebuilt so I could sell them, bought them initially for cheap intending to install them after a rebuild but ended up getting Kings instead. Sold them to a member on here

I started out with that idea. But I told myself, Self, besides the Bilsteins you will need new coils since we don't know if we still have our old OEM struts. So that is a tick against that idea. Also we wasnt sure how long the ADS rebuild would take in addition to the cross border shipping and we wanted to try heavier springs before rebuilding the ADS.

    Gollum mode off ;)

The Kings were not that expensive once I subtracted the cost of the temporary struts which where still 30% the price cuz Candada. Also saved me having to swap everything out again before the next rebuild.

Also I found the click in my front end. The uniball in the TC upper control arm is shot shot shot. The guy in the shop pointed it out to me. TC is sending me a rebuild kit for both sides.

    tc crop.jpg

Which brings me to a question I've been thinking about since I first installed the TC arms. Is there really no way to shield or protect the top of the uni-ball joint? The open joint design is just a cup for water and dirt and seems like it would cause accelerated failure of the joint. I think I got about 3 yrs out of it before it started clicking.

It really is an odd location since it has such a large range of motion. Almost anything I can think of just makes it worse since it might trap dirt or keep the joint from drying out.

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
The icons have dust caps for the tops. But you need their custom misalignment spacer to make that work.

My original total chaos arms had 8 years of Indiana winters on them before they started to have noise.

    Race truck parts....

I got 2 years out of my uniballs. I get like one wheeling season out of the spherical bearings in the shocks.

Also, that's not much preload at all. Crank them up and you'll be fine. No needs for 700lb coils on 1st gens.

How hard would it be to grab a E- locker from a prerunner and install it on a 4x4?

Don't the lockers come out of 8" rears and the non-locker trucks have 8.4" rears?

That being said I can't say for sure one way or the other if it will work, I imagine the short answer is no but the long answer might be that it's possible

Most times people just swap out the entire rear end instead of trying to make the locker work

Buy the whole axle assembly with harness, ensure that you grab one with the same gear ratio as your front axle.
Then wire it up using the factory harness and computer or research online and do your own wiring setup.

upper radiator hose leak they told me :bananadead: pink coolant been oozing out and dried up stuff by the radiator i thought was hose sealant/caulking or something
after they quote me price parts/labor i chuckled under my tongue saying that is quite rich!
pretty sure i can tackle this myself, just keep an eye on the level, no out of town trips while waiting on a proper priced hose.
Not sure if this is the original hose yet or not, it looks near brand new anyways

then I asked about getting new wheel nuts
with tax a new set of nuts all around is $400 :spending: more chuckling ensued as i grabbed a couple extra mini water bottles to battle dehydration from the waiting room and was on my way

i told the salesguy I have been working with on new car I would consider trade this taco in for that black TRD PRO in the showroom priced at $47k except the thing is an AT
