IMHO a turbo kit would be an easier fix for lack of power.... I would love an LS1 in my truck, though. lol

That's a rotrex kit, isnt it? Honestly rotrex's belong on track cars, if you want balls out power go turbo. A big single with a bar on the 4.0l would at least match an NA LS1 at a much lower price with way less fabrication.

Wow, props. The wiring is probably the worst part. I wonder how much of a headache it was to interface the painless stuff into the stock wiring? (I assume he is replacing the stock ECM)

Stupid Canadians and their bars lol. What is that like 14 psi? Right? I'm a little drunk so don't really remember but who is going to run a big turbo on a stock 4.0 engine? It's just can't handle it. I'm assuming by a big turbo you mean like 65mm+ right? That's way too big for a tacoma anyway IMO.

The LS1 is going to keep your low range power and you have the opportunity for much higher power if you go F/I in the future.

I've seen a basically stock D16 Civic run more then 3 bars and 10 in the quarter... A bar on the 4.0l with a proper tune wouldnt hurt it, it's only got like 10:1 compression. If you're really worried about low end, you can run sequential or twin turbo's, bingo bango. LS1 is just for bragging rights, a boosted LS1 is reaching the territory of unusable power, haha

Had a friend that put an LS1 into a RX-7. Thing was insane fast, and man did it sound awesome riding in it.

Never been a big fan of the turbo systems they offer for our trucks but I will bow out of this convo :D. I think anything over 500 hp on 2wd trucks with out work to the suspension, rear axle, wheels, and tires is ridiculous. You're never going to hook up and your tires won't last very long.
