These kind of flies work well with Bass. And some of those floating popper type flies.

Who on here fishes barbless only (or pinches barbs)?

I've been doing it for several years and haven't really noticed any impact to # of fish to hand/net. So much easier to release.

Only time it really hurts is using size 18-22 midges or dries so I try to avoid using them now. Besides being an old f*** so I can’t see to tie.

Yah,when you get down to 18 and below...those barbs are so small, they're less of an issue.

Barbs are only good for holding bait to a hook. I pinch 100% of them.

I'm not sure of the actual names. But the three on the left and top right are clouser patterns with a small collar. The other two not sure. I'd just search bass flies and look for similar patterns. Can't go wrong with Red & White and Yellow & Green.

I do when I’m fishing more for fun and less for harvest. When I’m fishing bait under a bobber I’ll keep the barb, but all of the fly fishing I do for salmon I’ll pinch down the barb.

Speaking of which, I’ll be going on a nice three day excursion to fill up the freezer the rest of the way with some silvers starting tonight :D

Ones on the left look like flashtail whistlers - https://www.feather-craft.com/flashtail-whistler

Edit: 2 in the bottom right are Rainy’s CF Attractor Baitfish in green - http://www.rainysflies.com/saltwater/rainys-green-attractor-cf-baitfish

No worries! I knew the flashtail right off the bat, but the CF Baitfish took a little hunting. Great looking pattern though!

Only a few more days before the fishing gear goes up until January. Hunting season is a couple weeks away. Got in the water this morning and caught a few. Had a 19-20” rainbow break me off on a size 18 fly with 6x tippet.

Ha, I’m counting down... Only another month or so before I break my rods out of summer hibernation for topwater striper! Speaking of summer, how are you wearing waders in this 90+ degree heat lol?!?

    Nice fish btw!
