@HPTuners, and maybe @JustDSM? Can yall comment on things like this, an rpm value where one would expect to see whole number values have tons of decimal points?

What did you end up tweaking in the trans tune to help with the flare? Is it still gone?

Expand out (show a few decimal points) say the throttle pedal mapping values and you will see what im talking about.

That makes sense, I’ve never expanded the decimal points. Gives you finer tuning over the values if necessary.

What I did was use HP Tuners to do a log of commanded throttle and RPM which are the values that make up the OTT table. Then I increased the values in that general area of the OTT table.

    This is stock:
    668C1596-33F9-4835-B244-0333AD7353D1.jpg
    This is current:
    3F63E318-48A9-4E2E-82EC-E659EAB1BA62.jpg
This is the difference between the two:
    A9E9454B-BB05-4C14-B3E1-344AB50AD82D.jpg

On mine it mostly happened around the red area on the third pic. The difference between current and stock is about +10%. I tried 5% initially but it still flared a little.

You're welcome to try these values, but I would be willing to bet that each truck's flare will be at slightly different areas based on lift/tires/weight carried/etc.

Its just weird tho, like why would some cells (specifically in the auto trans tables) be limited to say whole numbers in 25rpm driveshaft rpm increments and others, have wacky decimal's with seemingly no rime or reason haha. Either way still works!

(the OCD in my would just like whole numbers is all haha, it probably has to do with the byte to decimal conversion for values).

Are your shift pressures still stock? because there is a dip in gear pressure right around the same area of the 3 - 5 gears

I can see what you did, very clever. Do you have stock transmission and valve body or modified? With my stock VB I didn't have any issues especially after shift point and pressure changes made with @nd4spdbh help. When I changed to a WAT valve body, the flaring occurs with the 4-5 shift in all rpm ranges and bigger flares occur with bigger throttle inputs. I'm wondering if it's a problem with the valve body itself. However, when at highway speeds in 5th and accelerating to downshift to 4th, there doesn't seem to be flaring when acceleration stops and trans upshifts from 4-5. :notsure: My Tacoma only has a little over 20k miles, can't see there being a clutch pack problem especially when stock VB works fine.

I guess you could dig through every cell and try to make the numbers all whole to ease your OCD. :D

No other changes other than some things similar to what you did with your V9/V10.

I have the full IPT trans build and IPT valve body. (not for the faint of wallet)

    Ok. Thank you.

BTW, did you bypass the SAIS system as well? I’m basically just looking for that. If so, was it difficult?

I’m not experienced enough to mess with the tuning.

If anyone on here has actually "flashed" their computer to erase the SAIS system please let me know how you did it. Was it difficult? Were you able to disconnect all or some of the SAIS components?

I have a 2018 HP Laptop (Windows 10). Is this good enough to use with the HP Tuner?

I assume this comes with instructions? I know the question sounds silly but you'd be surprised.

    Thank you

Pm @Roostfactor or @loginfailed they should be able to tell you about the SAIS.

As far as the laptop you should be good to go. You will need a solid internet connection also when flashing the truck.

Haha, some cells just wont take whole numbers!

And cool deal, look out for a V11 tune which addresses some lugging issues of holding onto 5th locked too long and reshapes the curves via axis re-scaling. @snowsk8air2 has been rocking it for a day or two with positive feedback.

There aren’t any instructions included for tuning your truck. Once you get your MPVI2, if you need some help feel free to send me a PM.

The editor will round the values to the nearest allowed value. You don't have all this precision in reality. ie. when the editor converts the decimal number back to hex the scaling factor used determines the resolution. Most toyota values are stored as BCD not floating point numbers.

It’s been great. Just want to hear back from @JustDSM about my last log with regards to a few wot pulls and get his input on that 1st gear throttle angle stuff. Then maybe we can try messing with that anti lag shift nonsense you wanted to play with. All for the

Thank you! I will reach out to @JustDSM as well. I have 100' of ethernet cable. I can hook it up to my router & it will reach my truck.

OK. Thank you. I really appreciate that.
