i was looking for a oem bed mat but was amazed to find that almost everywhere online was like 108-115 with shipping, tax... i finally found a dealer online that had the item listed on ebay for 89 and another dealer that had one listed for 80 (both with shipping +++ on top of those prices). Long story short i called my toyota dealer and asked if i could price match it to an online price. Went buy and picked it up today for $85 with tax added. Not sure if i just got lucky or if all dealers would do this but i will be attempting the same thing again if i come across an item like this!

    First off, Welcome!
Some say... Welcome to the most expensive Free forum ever... Lol
That's a good deal. Not every dealership will price match, so good on you. And yes, most online parts depts will charge shipping.

You can order from here and have it shipped free to the dealer. It’ll be there on the truck the next day.

Toyota started this earlier this year and from what I’m told this will be cheaper than what the parts department can sell it for and has been in my experience thus far.

yep usually they are pretty good on price. They have the part for 109... seems like each dealer uses a version of this same search engine but instead of just saying the price (msrp 109) they say $80 with $30 shipping because they know it will get more clicks off google.

That’s why you pick it up at the dealer for free. You select it at checkout

Yeah. They rolled it out this spring. I was told toyota wants people to start going this way, that’s why you get better pricing. I was also told the parts counter can’t price match it, you have to place the order online.

I bet Toyota would prefer users to go online to order, no more haggling of prices and saves margin.

Speaking of which, 12% off sale through the online toyota parts website including 4Runner SEMA rims.

Is it just me. I can’t get them to ship anything to my local dealer.

Welcome to the forum from Eastern North Carolina.

I've found that a lot of places will price match on-line prices, if you ask.

For example, when I bought my Extang Encore tonneau, a local store matched an on-line price, saving me a couple hundred dollars. They still made a profit, just not as much.
