Has there been an argument over synthetic line vs steel on a winch I need to know if the synthetic lines worth the money since I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on the Winch this weekend

So the yellow wire mod is removing a particular yellow wire from a wire harness connector on NON OR models that enables traction control to work in 4LO.

Poor mans locker is engaging parking break 1/2 way or so when lsd equipped in a off camber situation. Only one wheel will spin but the resistance from the brake will engage the lsd and get ya moving.

 

As in you snapped em? Any loss of life, limb, or property involved? I saw a video were one snapped and it destroyed the dude's tail gate

Synthetic is safer, just as strong, lighter & doesn’t get the split strands that tear up your fairlead & hands. Downside = more expensive.
I run the smitty 9.5k w/ synthetic

 

Yeah that's the one I was going to run I was just wondering if the 120 dollars extra was worth it worth it for the synthetic line

 

I think so. If you’ve ever messed with a worn steel cable, you’d agree. The steel cable can also kink. Bad unless you’re into that kinky stuff.

 

I think it's worth it, plus you can repair the synthetic line on the trail

 

If I steel line snap somebody getting hurt or a windshield getting busted

You can always put a blanket or heavy canvas on it and attach a weighted bag over it. That way if it snaps it absorbs the recoil.
