speaking of money, I just thought this was funny...

we just had an "all-hands meeting" for our program that was supposed to be a face-to-face Q&A type thing and a guy from our generation was like "What is Boeing doing to keep the younger generation, I've got coworkers that have left for 50-100% pay raises at other companies?" I was thinking like then F off man, if the grass is so much greener why tf are you staying? Everyone would leave for enough money.

In the current north Alabama economy reno/handyman/construction is good money right now. I stay booked about a month out. This commercial job I’m on right now im making about $120/hr. Most regular work I’m $30-50/hr

I have actually contemplated getting my electrician certificate. It would actually come in handy at my job currently, but could really open alot of different avenues for me in the near future.

My next step is either going to be plumbing/gas or HVAC. Electrical is a lot of investment unless you are going to be doing it full time.

my last company needed 'em like crazy. I know it seemed to me that anyone that could get certified and have a focus in controls and building control systems could basically go wherever the heck they wanted...

the pay for "just a regular ol' electrician" has increased significantly over the past few years and trade like jobs in general are at an all time high. I would rather specialize in something but knowing that potential big money is out there Im game. Not to mention, sitting in front of a computer is not my idea of "dream job" Im much more of a hands on person.

you'd be one heck of a candidate for building control stuff then, I don't know how much of it you can do without travel is the issue, and also the reason it's so hard to find/keep people.

Depending on how often and where, I would travel. I just don't want to be gone all the time with having a 15 month old with plans on having another in the next year or 2

at Spectrum the controls guys traveled like 90% of the time, that's all I can speak to. I know all I ever heard was how that industry is in such high demand and nobody is available. It's just not something you're really taught in school whatsoever.

Anybody have any experience with the BFG KO2's in here? They seem to be popular. I am looking at some 265/70/17's right now. Been researching the ever loving shit out of tires. It is amazing how much I have learned from this forum alone.
